It's great, but I still like Going Commando more. I just don't have the reflexes for the platforming and hoverboard racing in the first game.

As for atmosphere, I'm always surprised by how much this game pulls me in.

I think it is because the first version of all games are the best. In my opinion, i think Ratchet and Clank is the best game of all time.

re: The greatest game of all time?

there is no doubt it is an awesome game, but best of all time, I think that may be a little over optimistic. I agree with JoveHack here, Going Commando was the better game, simply because of the advance in weaponry. I'll admit that the story and setting were best in the first but the insufficient story is compensated for by the bigger arsenal of weapons, the ability to upgrade the weapons, the mods (acid, shock, lock - on), and the ability to purchase armour. The third game enhanced the weapons, upgrades and armour aspects but again the storyline was flawed. One of the worst in any game I've played. I still loved the gameplay aspects though. In my opinion they should have ended the series there, just as Insomniac rivals, Naughty Dog did with Jak and Daxter, maybe a couple off spin off's but 3 spin off's and a second 'crack in time series? what do you guys think?

re: The greatest game of all time?

don't you mean a 'future series'? Crack in time is the last one in the Future series, not the name of the whole 2nd series
Gladiator / Deadlocked was a brilliant spinoff, one of the best shooters (it's more like Resistance TBH than the platforming of earlier RAC's) I have played, and Size Matters (which was great) and Secret Agent Clank (whcih wan't so great) were by a different company - High Impact Games And the Future Series was brilliant - Tools of Destruction, RAC's PS3 debut, was perhaps their best one yet! Yes, the original three RAC games were great games, but they didn't end it because it was one of the most popular Playstation titles of all time (RAC UYA was one of only 9 or 10 ps2 games to get 10/10 by Official PS2 Magazine). They improve them constantly - ToD proved that - and thus they will continue as long as they have the ideas, popularity and willpower

Oh, and my favourite RAC games are Up Your Arsenal and Tools of Destruction.

re: The greatest game of all time?

My problems with the sequels are that everything costs waaaaaaaaaay too much and I could never be bothered playing levels over and over to upgrade my weapons and gather more bolts.
Also Having your health upgrade gradually was a great idea, they countered this by having enemies take off big chunks of health but they seriously overestimated it.
Leading to situations where you can have 80 hit points and be killed in 3 hits.

Nah, more like second best game of all time. Going Commando will always be my favorite.

Clank: Maybe the extra oxygen will help your brain function properly.
Ratchet: Yeah, well maybe the salt water will rust your mouth shut.
