To dye clothes you have to make an item of clothing that is capable of being dyed, look in the crafting clothing menu for items made of cotton for example.

After you have made some clothing that can be dyed, then you go to Fashion & Grooming with a Sim and have that Sim choose to wear it.

Once a Sim chooses to wear this type of item, you are then given a choice of the colours that item will be.

When you have chosen the colours you have dyed the clothing and some of the dye resources are used up in the process. So you will want to craft more dyes as needed.

Or the easyist way go to The sim you dont care about and sign it up for getting stuff thats not food! then go back your favorite charter and sit back have a fuirt smoothie and in about 5 mins you should have Dye for cloths and hair (MOSTLY HAIR!)
