I have the chisel and the hammer, my girl Sim is 10 on everything. I get her good and rested , totally green and send her up. I even tried dressing her better and cutting her hair. No luck. She goes up to the right, the game says inspect and she shrugs her shoulders, no matter where I put her. I have trotted the other 3 up with no success.What am I doing wrong.

Are you sure you have the stone hammer and stone chisel? The positioning in this task is very touchy, but it sounds like you have approached from every direction. If, as you say, your Sim has full body points and is well rested, I can't think of anything else that would cause this.

I had this problem also, all I did was go and complete a few different goals then came back and it worked for me.

I thought about that after I posted. Maybe you have to complete a certain goal before you can do this task. Any idea which one it is?

I got through Geyser Rock before with Alex when he was not full marks and I don't know why it worked. But, like an idiot, I didn't save it while I was in the Temple. The game froze up and I was, once again, stuck outside Geyser Rock. I am not sure how the conditions were different. I definitely have the proper tools in the inventory but also they do is shrug when asked to inspect. I am stymied.

I think you should just do what sapphire said. Go do other things and complete some other goals. Then, try the rock again later.

Unfortunately I cant remember, but I'll try to find out.

I never had a problem with this the several times that I have played, so I really don't know why exactly someone would have a problem.

Maybe do what sapphire suggests and also be sure to be in the right place on the ledge when you inspect the rock. I have noticed that you need to be in just the right place when inspecting the rock.

I'm in but now I have a new problem. I don't have enough clay or driftwood to make a fire pit in the new area so I have nowhere to put my garbage. Does anyone know where the clay is? It's getting pretty ripe around the new camp.

I don't remember there being any clay on the 3rd island, but I may be wrong. I got all of mine on the 2nd island. I think it was in the Skull Rock Jungle. You don't need clay for the basic fire pit, and you can find driftwood on any beach.

DonMi is correct - you only need driftwood for the basic fire.

The only places I know of where you can find clay is skull rock jungle as DonMi said, and crystal island (after you have fixed the ancient forge in the temple).

The only place you can get to that has clay is Skull Rock Jungle, when you get there look for some steam and it is near an outer wall/ outer edge. Hopefully that will help you find it.

I solved the problem another way since I could not find clay and driftwood was pretty scarca all of a sudden. I went to an old camp and retrieved the fire pit and put it in inventory. Then I just took it out and set it up in the Geyser area.

Just don't try to retrieve a fire pit when it is burning. Ouch, ouch, ouch! LOL
