Does the driftwood ever respawn? I have been waiting for it for ages. And where do I get hard wood(yes, I have the shell axe thing)?

Driftwood does respawn eventually, but it may take a while. How long it takes to respawn I don't know.

To get Hardwood you need to have crafted the Stone Axe.

With the shell axe you can only get softwood.

Well, I collected all driftwood in the first beach as soon as the game started and now I'm in the third island then I go check the first beach and it's still ot there. Is it a glitch or something?

It does respawn eventually, but it does take a long time to do it, so it may be that not enough time has gone by.

You may also find driftwood on one of the other beaches.

By time you get to the third island you shouldn't really need very much driftwood.
