i get this error when the dxiw_demo_gsi.exe unpacks the installation files...

Just don't bother getting the demo. It's rubbish and you will want to delete it after 5 minutes

I second Chazzer. If you are even remotely interested in DX2 you are better off playing a copy from a friend or something to judge the game's true colors in your eyes. Despite being an utter piece of crap, the demo will tell you nothing about DX2 other than how it "might" run on your computer.
