re: Weapons

technically the duel swords are new, but um yeah the kunai thing is called a kusarigama. I hope they add stuff like they did with the hurricane packs to this one, heres hoping the weekend of vengeance thing is like that. Tonfas are also new.

re: Weapons

With Itagaki gone, I don't expect an expansion pack to be released or to be released anytime soon. Anyway, other than the Eclipse Scythe, Tonfa, Kusari-gana, and the Falcon Talon. The Fiend-bane Bow is also a new additional weapon. Also, I saw some videos showing a machine gun type of weapon as well.

re: Weapons

The Bow isn't really any different, it just looks different.

The Gatling Spear Gun is a waste of time, it's only purpose is underwater since I don't believe you can use it otherwise.

re: Weapons

I don't know the gatling spear gun is at least useful against the jellyfish things. And it is fairly useful against those blade demon creatures when you're int he water. But yea on land is is worthless and against anything with some defense it is junk. It isn't going to help you against the boss in chapter 5 at all.

The gatling spear gun saved my life against the blood eels and jellyfish things.

re: Weapons

Well, the new weapons impress me. Somewhat. And I like the tweaks on the old ones too.

I really loved the Dragon's Claw and Tiger's fang (dual katanas). They made short work of almost any enemy I came across. My only beef with them is that they're a bit rigid in aerial combat.

I respect the kusari-gama. They're going to take some getting used to, but I'm sure that they can really shine when mastered.

I like the scythe. Don't love it, but it's a nice weapon.

Tonfas... eh. I'll get around to using them eventually.

The lunar is too different for my liking. I preferred the combo list for the "black widow," or whatever that move was called, more in the first game. Now it just seems too easy to pull off. But I certainly can't argue the lunar's usefulness.

I feel that the claws are too weak. I like the concept but there are other weapons that do the job much more easily (to me)

I really like the improvements to the Dragon Sword. It's a very fluid and versatile weapon. But ever since I got the dual katanas I've almost completely stopped using the dragon sword.

And then came the Vigoorian Flails. Holy shit are they awesome! I'm definitely using them on my next playthrough and I will get the weapon achievement with them first.

One question, though. Where's the windmill shuriken? Is it not in the game (I'm pretty sure I saw some screenshots with it...) or do you get it really late (or did I miss it)? 'Cuz I'm on chapter 10 and I still don't have it.

re: Weapons

Without Itagaki the only thing they cant really do is add characters and story, that doesnt stop them from adding weapons, costumes and special fights.

You'll return to the Hayabusa village later in the game. When you do, one of the rooms that was locked in the area where you get the Rod of Valor and the Falcon's Talons will be open, and it's in there.

I know that from a video, haven't gotten that far myself.

re: Weapons

Loving all the weapons in this game, although I'm not a great fan of the claws.

The Dragonclaw, Tonfa, Kusari-gana, Dual blades and Scythe are all amazing, though.

yeah... I got it about half an hour after making that post... I felt kinda silly. Tbh I'm a bit underwhelmed by the windmill shuriken.

Only seen the claws so far and they're crap. Takes the edge off being a ninja, I mean how could you move about quietly with those stuck on your hands and feet! They also look rubbish, like over the top stupid!

Except they're actually traditional ninja weapons..

Level them up, then complain about them. Yeah, you can't. They're gangsta.
