Extreme framerate lag in chapter 10 |
|
The chapter where you're in the underworld shrine and near the end when you find the square tablet and walk through the doors it opens onto a long stairway. Over there they throw at least 30 Black Spider Ninja at you at once. I'll admit it made things easier since everything moves so slow but once it all returned to normal speed it got a bit awkward.
Also in chapter 11 in various stages there they throw more enemies at you than the 360 can handle. Has anyone else experienced this or have I just got a shitty 360?

I honestly think the experience in Chapter 10 was deliberate. Team Ninja did testing, and virtually everyone gets slow down there. Ten to one that was atmospheric.
Slowdown in 11 though? On both Acolyte and Normal I've not experienced any, but I'm sure with more enemies it would certainly get that way. -------------------

That was amazing...I loved Chapter 10 for that battle. NGII is fast-paced, but to see it slow down like that...wow.
Honestly, besides Chapter 10, I haven't had any major framerate issues. And that 'extreme' one as you put it makes me want to create a save file just for that chapter. -------------------

So what you're saying is the slowdown was intentional? Come on!

Of course it was. The devellopers obviously thought it would be cool to have one epic slow-mo battle with an excessive amount of enemies. Everybody gets the slowdown, there's no way something like that could be an accident.

Well, I think it's just stupid. Why not just throw 6 at a time and make them respawn to make it 30 overall?

Because then it would be just another battle and we wouldn't be talking about it. Now we got that insane 1 vs 30 fight where you can crack skulls and chop off limbs and heads in slow-mo.
I think most people wouldn't be interested at all in getting a patch that turns the stairway slow-mo battle into a regular enemy encounter just to get rid of the slowdown. I know I wouldn't.

I would, it was annoying. Would have been better with some effects to confirm it was on purpose like slight blurs or after-images of some movement. Otherwise it was simply annoying.
