Was absolutely shit. What terrible gameplay and graphics. It's not even on par with Superman Returns or Spider-Man 3. Don't buy this game.

I didn't think it was so bad, then again I wasn't expecting anything amazing from a move tie-in. I think this game holds more promise than either Superman Returns or Spider-Man 3.
The only thing Superman Returns did right was the flying mechanics. ------------------- ![]()

It's pretty awful, thought it might be good, I liked the button bashing B thing though, that was good for 5 seconds.

i actually enjoyed the demo. terrible graphics? whatever. Iron Man's suit looks really good, some of the other stuff doesnt look all that great but so what?
the gameplay is a bit wonky, but Sega isnt known for making games with awesomely tight controls. and besides, if you went into the demo thinking it would be as awesome as the movie, you are a complete moron. game to movie adaptations are never that great. i went into it knowing that and expecting utter shit. i was surprised to find myself actually enjoying it for the most part. i cant say for the actual game itself, but besides the expectedly-loose and screwy controls, i actually found the demo to be pretty fun. ripping the tail section off a helicopter FTW!!! quoteyeah, and the flying mechanics are great in this game too. you can hover around, and go directly into flight mode which is sweet, and even boost. plus you can blow the shit out of things, which you cant do with Supes. quoteits his main red and gold suit from the film. you are supposed to get at least 2 other suits in the game, probably starting with the chunky gray one Stark first creates. i heard a rumor you may even get to use the War Machine suit later on, so im crossing my fingers for that. re: Demo |
quote Shinobi_razorOk, thanks. I asked about the suit specifically because I wondered if it would be like the first level and then have the first suit and not fly. So good to know that it can be done in the demo. After asking I read a hands on for the demo, and they specifically said that they turned the look sensitivity down. And that there are some control options. http://previews.teamxbox.com/xbox-360/1939/Iron-Man/p1/ I was a little concerned that you wouldn't be able to go back to old levels with different suits, but considering that there are multiple suits it seems likely that you can go back. Hopefully so that with some more work you can get all the upgrades. ------------------- "Pain is candy for the focused mind."--Bobby Hobbes "Murder is a crime... unless your a corporation."--Me

It was meh...
I mean, flying around as iron-man, shooting missles and lasers...is fun lol, whatever. Landing all cool like that, and so powerful, it kills normal ppl? Hell yea. mashing B button to feel like IM destroying things? hell yes It was just rushed I think....so it screwed it over. ------------------- "Among thousands of comrades and ten thousand enemies, only you... only you made me forget my dream."

i have not played it yet because things don't travel very fast down here, most games that are set on films are not very good anyway and my mate the grim said that he finished it in 4 hours, what a geek^_^

re: Demo |
quote xbox360erI have played the demo, it is rather lacking, I also think I might adjust the audio, kick up the explosions and tearing metal. I also hope one of the movement upgrades adds some afterburner speed or something. I thought putting power to thrusters would do this but, maybe it also needs an upgrade. EDIT: To fly faster hold A (or X on PS3) drains power unless you have put more power to thrusters) I Imagine most of you have noticed that you can afford one upgrade before the mission, only Aux Weapon and I think Core Systems are available but both give you two different choices to try features. On the plus side they do let us use multiple suits and I don't know if they all have the multiple upgrades that the Mark-III does but we will see. Final note on the current game, a lot for me with Iron Man is it MUST allow me to go back to old levels with the bonus suits, to earn more cash for upgrades and fight bosses with them etc. As for future games... Really what annoys me is that pretty much any comic property has unlimited potential to be fun and innovative. Particularly Iron Man & the Punisher. Punisher is probably easier to do, look at GTA as a model then adjust it as needed to make it more suitable. Iron Man requires more powerful and dangerous issues but also just has a lot of potential. A game that was not connected to the movie and made you work harder to get your suits and then the materials to upgrade and such could offer a very interesting game but that requires a lot of money and work that thus far has not been put into comic games. With all the armors and weapons and Aux Weapons etc. available it could be an amazing game... one that will likely either never be made or get screwed up. (I guess if the Movie, or movies I hope, take off then it COULD happen.) EDIT: You know just to clarify I am talking about big "open world" type games. The Punisher game I got for Xbox and it is actually pretty darn good. I just used it as an example because it would be one of the easier ones of how I kinda wish we had an appropriate and enjoyable HUGE game, that maybe had a story but never really ended. Random crimes/events, the occasional super-villian etc. This message was edited by Hobbkito on May 03 2008. ------------------- "Pain is candy for the focused mind."--Bobby Hobbes "Murder is a crime... unless your a corporation."--Me

wow Im surprised how many peeps didnt like this game, I thought it was awesome, the graphics were great, flying controls were great. it looked *bleep*ed in the beginning though, you know where your in Mark 1 using the flame thrower, yeah that parts control sensitivity were odd.... the game was meant to be played in the skies..... what was in the demo anyway? where did you get the demo? I rented Iron man and started and beat it on the second day I had it... I was surprised when I played this because most Movie games suck...

re: Demo |
quote FableWarrior13I'm a little curious. The Team Xbox score was 7, average. But the IGN score was 3.8, bad. Now if you read the review this is because the game was too difficult and it was difficult because it was "cheating" by having a lot of unending enemies. now that didn't come up on the teamxbox review at all. Is that true? Have you found it particularly difficult? And how about One-Man-Army are these time challenges, how hard are they? Honestly I hate time challenges, especially arbitrary ones I mean what is the real rush? but I did them on Rogue Squadron for the PC, I think that is a perfect example... but honestly they probably put more testing into theirs, that I say of course without playing the full Iron Man yet. It could be true that the game maybe is a little short so they up the difficulty to extend playing time. I hope not but I could see that happening. ------------------- "Pain is candy for the focused mind."--Bobby Hobbes "Murder is a crime... unless your a corporation."--Me

quote Hobbkitoare you asking me or the others? if me, I thought it was kind of easy, slightly too easy.. I believe one man army is Timed but it gives about 10 or 11 min to kill 80 enemies, its quite easy. I dont like timed challenges either, but one man army would be a cake walk without it being timed -------------------
