"Death" In Advance Wars

I guess its to keep the ESRB rating low, but anyone else notice how nobody really dies so to speak, they are more or less forced to withdraw from battle.

Do you prefer it this way, or would it have been better if Nintendo actuually killed the characters off? I mean, this is war after all.

Hehe, yup. Nobody dies. They just "retreat."

Well, if characters died, they'd need a bigger arsenal of characters.

I think it would be better if some characters died. Maybe 1-2 main characters, but it would be rated T

Actually, new developments below:

Spoiler: Spoiler

Well, Greyfield shoots Forsythe after C14.

And much later into the game... (scroll down to see)

Greyfield orders Caulder to use his "new weapon" which kills Brenner

It actually is the darkest Advance Wars yet, now that I think about it.

Yup.

Anyone want to guess what the weapon was?

It had to be some sort of bomb, i thought about an atomic bomb but well he stared directly at it and said it looked like the sun (lol) so

Also, people are constantly dying from that disease.

If it was a bomb it would destroy a lot of the land

Probably some laser thing, stabbing him in the heart or something.

re: "Death" In Advance Wars

I'm fairly certain that it was a bomb of some sort.

It seems to me that AW:DoR is following the old video game cliche; If you "die" in battle its usually okay (most of the time its just a KO, or you can revive them with an item or magic or something), but if you die in a cut-scene, then you are gone for good.

For instance, in the last battle against The Beast, does he actually die? Or do they push him to retreat and cripple his battalion enough that he will not attack again?

He probably would have died, he would not have just left them all of a sudden.

Actually...

He dies later on when Caulder gives him the "medicine" an just poisons him.

It was more of a rhetorical question, but still; like I said before about that cliche.

What? They fight out there themselves! But, It is definitely the most darkest Advance Wars Game, yet. Because 90% of the Earth's population is gone,
Spoiler: I forgot to put this in I apologize SSJ3 Trunks... :S

Brenner dies, The Beast Dies, Forsythe Dies, but that's all I know. (didn't Greyfield die at one stage as well, or was that Waylon? I'm not too sure.)

That's what I was about to say, It's not like the CO's are on the front lines so seeing all their troops getting defeated would most likely push them into retreat.

And even when a CO is in the unit and the unit is destroyed, the CO just retreats.
