just doing an all-english aston villa challenge. anyone else done it? i remember it going round a while back.

if anyones getting bored, DO IT! its absolutley nuts. you get so much more from the game rather than buying foriegn players.

working in a limited player pool is so much more harder but so much more rewarding.

anyone season 3, i've just won the league cup (penalties), fa cup (penalties) and ... THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE! finished 3rd in the league (utd won it).

luckily enough, rooney wants to join my team despite utd winnin the league so hopefully...... if utd's debt kicks in and i get a 60M budget, i'm well in the money!

i'll post screenshots later. unearthing english gems is absolutley fantastic. working on my youth system is rly rewarding too. got lots of good players. brill scouting network working only in england.

oh..... and barry is FANTASTIC. hes scored 15+goals and 15+ assists every season. phenomenal taking into account i never rated him highly.

Not Really Hard To Do An All English Challenge With Villa, But I Guess It Sounds Alright

I've got a Villa game running so i'd be interested to know your 1st 11. I cannot access screenshots though as im at work and it does not allow access to photobucket and the like ('kin websense!).

I personally think Barry is very average, although Young is the dogs bollocks.

dominate the world with an all english squad?

the only decent english players at villa are agbonlahor, barry, young and knight.. of which only barry is worldclass (just about..?).

then take into account lerner is willing to accept lots of bids (i lost ryan taylor) and the fact they dont have as much financial muscle as other clubs.

then take into account expectations (they want me to win the league in 2 seasons now, they want me to get to finals of facup/league cup and get to semis of champions league... if i dont get T4 im out of a job).

im talking about success!!! not just getting an all-english squad.

team of the 80s, you won't believe it but... young has never been a 1st team player for me. he performs brilliantly when placed in but he hasn't been able to take downing or bentleys places.

barry plays in a simple 4-4-2 for me. he has all the through balls, creative liscence, no longshots and lots of forward runs. other midfielder holds.

Hang on that cant be right, you cant have won like that. The English cant take penalties
