Newcastle United- The Geordie Nation take charge!

Newcastle fans take charge!

In a sensational new twist in the never-ending farce that is Newcastle United, the Newcastle fans have taken control of the club!

The so-called 'Geordie nation' have decided to buy out Mike Ashley, a billionnaire, after his constant indecision and oversized gut threatened to make the club a laughing stock. Chris Mort, the chairman, has been relieved of his duties immediately, and it is not known who will step up into the role. Whoever takes it will feel the weight of an anxious city, a city which is desperate to taste silverware. There are unconfirmed reports that the Geordies are looking at a former hero to take the role of chairman, with numerous names being bandied around. Rob Lee, Alan Shearer, Marcelino..., all the former heroes. The main investor, Ian Michael Arthur Mackem (IM A MACKEM) held a brief press conference in which he broke the news.

quote IM A MACKEM
Hello and welcome to this symbolic conference, and today I bring great news. Myself and 52,000 other Newcastle United diehards have bought 100% of the shares in club!
(Shocked gasps around the room)

quote The Sun
I guess congratulations are in order. But how the hell did you manage to buy Mr.Ashley out?
quote IM A MACKEM
It was a fairly simple process in all honety. Firstly, I arranged for a couple of chavs from the hotspot that is Heaton to put the frighteners on Mr.Ashley by writing inappropriate messages on his house. We stepped this process up over a couple of weeks and this made Mr.Ashley realise he wasn't welcome in Newcastle. We then approached Mike with a large sum of money, which will remain private, to buy his shares. He obviously accepted and, hey presto, we are the owners!
quote BBC SPORT
But many problems will be created by this. For a start, who is chairman?
quote IM A MACKEM
Well, nothing has been decided yet, when myself and the other shareholders sit down we will discuss this.
quote The Daily Mail
Will Kevin Keegan remain as manager?
quote IM A MACKEM
Err...Ooh...Best get going, the wife's waiting for me!
(IM A MACKEM runs out of the door, leaving the packed room of journalists speechless)

A Newcastle shareholder and his son

This news has rocked the footballing world, and just shows that fans really are the lifeblood of a club. The Newcastle fans seem optimistic, but the 'face' of the new ownership, IM A MACKEM, had nothing to say on the managerial situation. Could Newcastle really get rid of their hero Kevin Keegan? Only time will tell...

Is charismatic hero Kevin Keegan on his way out of Newcastle, under new ownership?

King Kev moves upstairs!

In a massive twist, Kevin Keegan has left his role as Newcastle United manager to become chairman!

Newcastle United was recently bought by its ever-so-loyal fans, and this is believed to have led to Keegan stepping down. Newcastle chief shareholder Ian Michael Arthur Mackem had little to say on the managerial position at his press conference 3 days ago, and that is because Keegan was actually in the process of clearing his desk. Keegan left his post as manager as he didn't want to let the Geordies who worship him down, and this left the shareholders with a dilemma, a major dilemma. However, it is believed that Mr.Mackem held a meeting with 'King Kev', and persuaded Keegan to stay, as chairman at least. This is a real coup for IM A MACKEM, and despite the fact that there is no manager, the Toon faithful are convinced the club is in the right hands. Newcastle fans saw Mike Ashley as something of an enigma, but Keegan is a true footballing man, and understands the club.

Despite the optimism around Newcastle, fans are seemingly overlooking the fact that there is no manager! No-one connected to the club has been available for comment, but many, many names have been thrown around as the hunt begins for a new manager. The fans are allegedly looking for a former hero to take charge, with an English coach as a backup plan. However, the hiring of a foreign coach hasn't been ruled out, and it is important that the right man is brought in. The current front runners for the role are:

Alan Shearer 4/7
Peter Beardsley 5/4
Rob Lee 5/2
David Moyes 7/2
Mark Hughes 11/2
Jose Mourinho 10/1

and the outsiders...

Graeme Souness 250/1
Sam Allardyce 400/1
Paul Gascoigne 450/1
Marco Gabbiadini 550/1
Bernie Slaven 1000/1

Is Alan Shearer about to return home?

I am not going to rush into the football, there will be a few more updates to announce the new manager and for new shirts etc.

C+C please

New Sponsorship deals announced!

Newcastle United's new chairman Kevin Keegan has started on the club's new image by agreeing to multi-million pound contracts with two sporting giants!

Mitre, the old-style sporting brand which has fell in popularity over the past few years, has agreed to become Newcastle's new shirt provider, with millions of pounds expected to be earned by both parties. Lucozade, the sports drink giant which has become a global brand over the past few years, has agreed to sponsor the Toon in a whopping £50million deal lasting 6 years. This is bad news for Northern Rock, Newcastle's loyal sponsor for many years, and Adidas, the long term shirt provider. Keegan is determined to bring a new freshness to the club, and has even ditched the traditional black and white stripes in favour of a shirt dominated by white, but still maintaining the black. But don't let me babble on all day, take a look for yourselves!

The next update will be all about the race for the managerial job, and it will hopefully be up tonight, if not then definitely tomorrow.

Very Nice SOMS, KUTGW. I really like the fact your not rushing into the matches and you have an actual story line. Good concept and "Ian Michael Arthur Mackem (IM A MACKEM)" LOL

Good start here, good to see you're using the kits I configured

Just noticed on the Alan Shearer pic, if you quickly glance it looks like he has a huge birth mark over his face, don't look at it too close you'll see the secret

re: Newcastle United- The Geordie Nation take charge!

As a Newcastle fan, I would like to see Martin Jol as manager, although he doesn't have any chance, being neither a favorite or an outside.

Considering Kevin Keegan is the Chairman, Keegan will obviously have some say in the final decision and with most Newcastle fans knowing nada about 'soccer' and being pushy, not to mention impatient, I expect the fans to choose Alan Shearer as manager. Heard it here first
