Yeah that was an absolute bullshit decision. I had it 49-46 Rua. I was thinking of challengers again, and we've obviously got the winner of Rashad/Silva...and then who? Forrest or Tito? Ryan Bader? Keith Jardine?
Anyway, this is exactly why the UFC needs to suck it up and sign Henderson. Not only is he a credible MW challenger, he could also do it at LHW. ------------------- The

Machida vs. Rua II
Machida win vs. Vera/Couture Rua win vs. Anderson Silva That's what I'd go with. I'd say Vera and Couture because neither have been knocked out by Machida recently so there could be more hype put into the fight. Plus, Couture will get a token title shot if he wins regardless. Think I read somewhere that Silva won't fight Machida, so let him fight Rua if he beats Machida. People like Bader can have the winner of Rashad vs. Silva then go onto fight whoevers champion. Depends on who wins the rematch I say.

Congrats Shogun, in just about everyone's eyes you won that fight and are the true best at 205.

quote WillYes, I totally agree with this. I want a rematch as soon as possible. But the rematch has to be on a card with a bigger main event, this can't be the headlining fight again. Then, if Machida wins the rematch, give him the winner of Couture/Vera, and give Shogun the winner of Rashad/Thiago. If Shogun wins the rematch, give him Anderson Silva, while Machida could either take on the winner of Rashad/Thiago again or Couture/Vera for a number one contender's match. -------------------

Fact is Shogun still lost. Yeah, these judges should be fired, but it's not like it's the first time someone was screwed out of a win by the judges decision (Forrest and Tito?, W. Silva and Franklin?) and it certainly wont be the last. Shogun had many opportunities to try and finish the fight but he didn't. Neither did Machida. They both played it too safe. Hopefully in the rematch we see a better performance from the two. One where they don't hold anything back.

I would like to know what that certain person on here who referred to Rua as "Nogun" thinks of him now...

I know you're referring to someone else, but I am surprised Rua fared so well. I thought his attacking style would fit in with Machida's counter-style, leading to an easy Machida decision. Instead, even though Machida won, it sounds like Rua could have and possibly should have been awarded the win and the title. I have yet to see the fight, but while reading a recap it sounded like Machida won two rounds, Rua won two rounds, and the other round was likely won by Rua, but it could have gone either way. Instead, all of the judges gave Machida three rounds. I want to see this for myself to see what the confusion is. There's a way to lose three rounds and still look like the dominant fighter in the two rounds you won.
The rematch should be good fun. Or another controversial decision ------------------- ![]() ![]()

quoteThe judges said he lost, so he lost. Opinion unchanged. BREAKING: The UFC 106 main event is now off. UFC Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar has been forced to withdraw due to illness. Dana confirmed this to Yahoo Sports. Reportedly he's been ill 3+ weeks and hasn't been able to train, but Dana says it probably isn't that pig flu. No word on what happens to Shane Carwin, either a replacement is found or the fight's rescheduled. ------------------- My Blog-Sports, MMA, Girls, Etc.

Tito vs. Forrest is likely the new main event. Just read this on 411mania as well. I forgot who Lesnar's next opponent was before reading the article

Isn't UFC 108 being marked as their "Ultimate" show 2009 anyways? Nice addition that should replace A.Silva and Belfort as the Main Event.
