Worst event i've seen in a long time. Not happy.

ESPN adverts suck also.

re: Ultimate Fighting Championship® Discussion [06]

I thought it was a little above average, of course would've like to have seen that fight that reportedly broke out in the crowd during Riley-Nelson. Shocked at Forrest, seems he took a Fosbury...or, let's call it a Forrestbury Flop after that jab, admittedly I laughed a little when he came to and promptly ran all the way back. Not what I hoped for out of Forrest but Silva put on a good showing. Obviously disappoined that Florian lost but I have a feeling Sanchez will get the job done.
Not too impressed with new ring girl Natasha though, she has some work to do. And blow us some kisses like Arianny does, dammit!

re: Ultimate Fighting Championship® Discussion [06]

It wasn't a bad card, just a lot of even fights. Really impressed with BJ - from the first round you could just tell that he was gonna take it. Everything was coming off for him and he looked in awesome shape. He reminded us all how good he really is and looks to have gotten over to loss to GSP (something I questioned going into this one). Kenny looked like he was trying the same strategy as GSP, which I didn't expect. I don't think Kenny has the size or tools to pull it off and I think it was a mistake to try it. Looking forward BJ/Diego.

Anderson Silva - Hoooo-leee shit! That was just awesome and he just made Forrest look terrible. Walking forward with hands down at his waist relying almost soley on head and body movement to avoid all the punches then KO's Forrest with jab, walking backwards. I think Anderson baited Forrest into abandoning his game plan and throwing punches with all of his taunting and Forrest paid for it. I felt a bit bad for Forrest at the end and hopefully he comes back in his next fight.

Not that it really matters, but I don't agree with the bonuses. I thought the title match was better than Anderson/Forrest and I think George should have gotten sub of the night. If not for any other reason, than BJ already makes WAY more money than he does.

Another f--k up by Miragliotta. It wasn't an awful stoppage, but it was questionable and you have to feel bad for Amir - He's waited so long for his debut since TUF. I hope he comes back strong.

Glad to see Almeida pick up the win.

Beautiful performance from George

re: Ultimate Fighting Championship® Discussion [06]

Injury report: Forrest has bruised pride, some explaining to do, a dislocated jaw and and what sounds like a temporary loss of hearing in one ear. Whether or not Griffin faces any type of repercussions from the Zuffa brass for ducking out early is unknown at this time. A UFC official tried to dissuade Forrest from running to the back like he did. Didn't work. Yes, some are already shouting "Fix!" given the flop from the simple-looking jab that ended the fight.

re: Ultimate Fighting Championship® Discussion [06]

Honestly, I don't think it was fixed. I think it was just that for the first time, Forrest's fighting spirit was crushed. Sliva was pretty much taunting him, walking in with his hands down, dodging everything he threw, I think Forrest was embarrassed. It was shocking, but I don't think it was a flop.

Possibly the best non-intended pun I've read.

No it isn't. There were/are no repercussions. He was upset at himself and just wanted to get out of there.

Honestly man, don't start this shit.

re: Ultimate Fighting Championship® Discussion [06]

I've read on a few forums people saying it was a fix, but you can tell it wasn't, Forrest looks out when he dropped, he didn't recover the shots before the last jab landed.

Sucks I didn't get to complete my subscription to ESPN in time and there were no good feeds so I missed this whole event besides the two openers. But I watched the event today and Anderson Silva, holyyyyy shit.

re: Ultimate Fighting Championship® Discussion [06]

People who scream fix are idiots who need to go watch the WWE. They're too interested in story lines and drama they're hoping it is a fix. And if any repercussions are brought on Forrest then it's stupid. He's a fighter and the way he got stopped was probably embarrassing to him not to mention his jaw and hearing, so going to the back was probably the best thing for him to do. IIRC he congratulated Silva before doing so.

Watching that fight, Silva's lack of knees, kicks, clinches and attemped finishing of Forrest when he was down made me think he was practicing his boxing for Roy Jones Jr.

He didn't need to use any of them tho, maybe he had a gameplan and wanted to make a statment by doing what he did.

I read the recap of the event first, and then saw the Griffin-Silva fight. Damn. *bleep*ing dancing machine, someone needs to knock that showoff out. Sucks that Florian got submitted too, but I didn't see that fight.

re: Ultimate Fighting Championship® Discussion [06]

Developing: Rich Franklin's anti-Anderson Silva plan has possibly backfired. Silva's team delivered a proposition to Dana after 101 last night: Silva moves permanently to Light Heavyweight, even if it means vacating the UFC Middleweight Title. No guarantee this actually happens but if so, we'll have a new MW Champion soon for the first time in a while.
