re: Ultimate Fighting Championship® Discussion [06]

That was my highlight of the night. Come in, dance around the prey, go home.

If Silva does move up to light-heavyweight permanently, a Spider-Dragon fight will inevitably happen, no matter what Silva says about Machida being a comrade. I'd honestly pay to see that fight.

re: Ultimate Fighting Championship® Discussion [06]

First UFC PPV I've watched since Lesnar-Couture fight, and it was pretty good. Not many exciting knockouts or finishes, but there were some pretty good fights.

The Hendricks fight was definitely stopped prematurely, but I bet he would've won anyways. KenFlo lasted longer than I thought he would, too.

But damn, Silva showed me something. I knew he was good, and after reading about his last fight I thought he was just a *bleep*y asshole. But after embarassing Griffin like that, I can't even get close to questioning him anymore. I know this is a huge swing, but after watching that fight, I actually like Silva. He's so *bleep*y but he backs it up, and he's that cool badass that everyone either loves or loves to hate.

There's no doubt Silva is one of, if not THE best fighter in the world, but I hate this arrogant demeanor he has developed, and Dana trying to tell us that he's such a nice guy. It's like Dana wants to promote Silva to the widespread audience as being a great guy in order for more people to root for him, while Silva is just trying to show up his opponents by dancing and offering numerous handshakes after he knocks a fighter down. Silva had better stay in MW long enough to set up a superfight against GSP. I think we'd all be excited about that one, even though I'm not a big fan of either of them.

You're absolutely right. Anderson should just stand there and get hit instead of using head movement to avoid strikes. What an arrogant prick.

No point in hanging around at 185 when you have no opponents left. I'd much rather see a permanent move up LHW and if he fights Machida, he probably won't be for a few more fights. The buzz around the possibility has only just started recently and either guy will only take the fight if there's a huge money offer on the table. The longer they avoid it, the more people want to see it.

What the *bleep* are you talking about? In his recent previous fights he was dancing his whole body around without his opponent being near him or throwing strikes.

re: Ultimate Fighting Championship® Discussion [06]

That's because Cote and Leites weren't doing shit. Anderson's a counter fighter, he wants you to move forward and attack him and he was trying to get them to do that. They just didn't fall into the trap the same way Forrest did. You know, I also think he was trying to make a point - I don't think he wanted to fight either of those two guys and didn't really want to be out there. That's just my assumption though. He seemed really PO'd after the Thales Leites fight.

I believe Silva has three fights left on his contract, so a Machida fight should happen sometime by next year.

Silva is a beast. Plain and simple. He tends to fight down to his opponents (lower) level, but the man is so so skilled. I knew Forrest stood no chance.

*bleep* KenFlo! Damn!

Kenflo ain't got shit on blowjob penn. That little butterball mofo is a beast, you can call him a bitch or whatever, but hes one of the people I've seen that actually backs up his *bleep*y attitude. His loss to GSP, if anything, made him even more dangerous.

And for people who think Penn's a pussy because he lost to GSP, get over yourselves. Penn was born to fight in the lightweight division, he should have never left 155, GSP pretty much had every advantage in that fight. I would never lose respect for a fighter if they lost to GSP, that guy is just too crazy.

edit: c-o-c-k-y is censored now? wow, neoseeker filters blow, they can't even distinguish a common household word from an expletive?

Watched the 101 post-event press conference earlier (Mania put up a video), Penn didn't really have anything bad to say about Florian after it was over. Penn, Silva, Almeida, Hendricks and Dana were all there. Good stuff.

Patrick Cote Update: ACL good, but now MCL bad. Busted as he says, surgery needed. Now out until probably February or March.

No, but had Penn lost he'd be talking all sorts of shit. Always humble and respectful when he wins, but a whiny bitch when he loses. Can't wait to see Diego tear him up. Even better the bag of excuses Penn will reach deep down into after it happens.

Diego's got no ground game, Penn would submit him in seconds. And Penn isn't as stupid as Clay Guida, to stand right in front of Diego while he's throwing bombs. Penn would pick his shots, frustrate Diego, then take him down and submit him.

Yeah pretty much my thoughts. He had nothing bad to say about Kenny, because he beat him. To be fair to BJ though, he was a bit more humble than usual on the countdown show as well. BJ/Diego's gonna sick, I can't wait.

Possibly the most uneducated comment in this thread.

After UFC 101 those were the Barnes & Noble sports book sales charts. #2 & #3-Forrest Griffin, Born To Run. Haha.
