My first impression of this game is that it is trying to be sort of like Sould Blade in the quest mode. It varies with the skill points that you can earn and put toward stats on your charachter like an rpg, and the few choices in the storyline that you can make.

However, I did manage to turn some of my friends hair white with the profanity that spewed forth from my mouth while playing this game. The enemies you face sometimes have weaker "thugs" with them that distract you from your main enemy long enough so that he is able to unleash a perfect 10 hit combo on you. You are unable to block at all once a combo is started as well. Worse still, some of the enemies have the ability to give themselves DAMAGE SHIELDS that when you attack them, you damage them, but the damage you inflict hurts you as well, so youre left running around waiting for the effect to wear off, just to have them activate it again. Other special attacks are just simply unblockable, and impossible to defend, giving the game a sort of "cheap" feel. You have your own special too though, Different for each charachter, but the enemies somehow know to keep their distance from you when it is activated, so the usefulness of them is affected quite a bit. You will also face enemies and a warning is brought up onthe screen saying Your opponent's life Regenerates; take the offensive to win. Thats all well and good, but the cpu simply blocks everything when in trouble, and their life regenerates fully while you are fighting desperately to survive. The difficulty of the game is not changeable, so once you figure out the patterns, its easy as pie. Definate rental, not worth sinking 50 bucks into it.
