Well I can try and write something, or it can be done by yourself/Sphinx. You both seem to understand the aim of the forum and might do better at writing it down. If neither of you want to though, I'll make sure I get something done.

I have to agree with Praetorian_Lord. A moderator just does not seem that necessary. There is no spamming or flaming after which to clean up. The forum, by itself, is fairly stable.

This may be not appropriate for this forum or may be tied into Homework Help or something or it may just promote random people to come or it may belong in Writers Lounge; I dno, but I had an idea:
How about there is a thread where someone can post their essay/report and the other members can proof read it and fix any grammatical or spelling errors and offer suggestions. Now this idea may be taking it too far and I'm not sure if it would work out but maybe then, with the author consent, we could archive each essay. Now for the current average forum goer this could help them and generate inspiration and ideas but obviously some random members could just come and plagiarize an essay. I have no idea if or how this would work I just figured I'd throw it out there. ------------------- you're so gangsta i'm so thug

It sounds like a pretty decent activity, and being the grammar Nazi that I can be, I would have a fun time doing that. Although, you raise a point; it might be better suited for the Writer's Lounge.

quote a DudeSounds reasonable I guess. The difference to writers lounge might be that people can offer strict critique here, and potentially start up discussions. I wrote about Iran in IE once and barely anyone replied, which kind of gutted me as I wanted feedback on it. I'd be willing to repost that here if you guys think this is route worth going for. ------------------- ![]() quote Daisy

You have my guarantee that is you post it, S Oz, that I will read it and give a little review on it. As Praetorian_Lord said, it cannot hurt, so give it a shot.

Come on, guys, we really need to get this forum going. If can just get five of us to post four times a day, then that's twenty posts a day. I'd really like to see this forum come alive.

Well, I'm here and I'd be more than willing to post at least four times a day. The only problem is that at the moment we seem to have a lot of specialist-type threads where you need to have experienced something (comparatively) quite obscure in order to be any help. I think that the likes of the History thread were on the right track, maybe we should pursue that line of threads for the time being?
Also, should I go ahead and change the title of this thread to Forum Suggestion and Feedback? It's pretty much being used as that at the moment, anyway..? ------------------- ![]() Credit to Willow Vampire <3 (+11.2)

Yes, a title change probably ought to be in order.
Well, Praetorian_Lord, it;s good to know that you can participate, but what we really need is at least one thread that can perpetuate a conversation and still be about education. ------------------- ![]() Former Rome

I'm still waiting on Sphinx's rules, tbh. I still reckon that'll go a long way.

Sphinx any progress here? Unless I am horribly mistaken, I've not had a PM. I'm still unsure if we ought to look at a moderator here, but if you can send me a draft post or something that will help massively.

I'm going to agree with the above posts, I don't think a moderator here is necessary at this point in time. The PPD is in the single digits. Many of the regular active members are moderators, and the ones who aren't have showed a high level of maturity and don't seem prone to outbursts or flaming.
If something like that does happen however- we all know how to report it A clear set of rules would be useful though, especially to clear up any discrepancies on what you should post here. What exactly is the progress on that? If possible I would like to make a few suggestions as well, or help out with the writing. -------------------
