Introduction to Music? History of Music?

Well yeah, Ambush Reality is an independent label. So, if you want to create your own label, you don't really need to finish college, as long as you understand the music's world, etc. But, if you're going to work with someone, you really need to finish your college, 'cause the major labels would prefer to choose someone who knows a lot of thing about the music, and one of the ways to determine it is by looking trough their academic achievements.

But I think History of Music, Introduction to Music, etc will suffice enough. Unless, your college has some sort of special educations, that no other colleges have. It's better to ask the counselor.

I would take some Music and Technology classes, as well as plenty of A/V and perhaps some Theater Tech even.

You will also want to take plenty of business courses including Management and Micro/Macro Economics.

I know some schools offer music business classes although I'm not sure if those classes would help in making your own label or if not.

In Oz we have T.A.F.E., which is kind of like the university equivalent of a technical college, and some of my mates are doing music business certificates. The courses are pretty much taylor-made to the industry, and you get experience as well as education.

I hate to be the devil's advocate, but why start a record label? It requires quite a bit of capital to start up and personally i wouldn't run head-on into it esp. if you're considering it as a career.

It really depends on what position you want at the label.
