Seriously. I use my own system. The home row keys were so hard for me to learn. I think you need to have good finger synchronization, and that just is not possible for all of my fingers, at least on a typing level. ------------------- Forum Academiae President Rome

Definitely. I don't like that we have to those things. They are so pointless. I wish that we did not have to do them. I mean, I had a D in that class. I stood out as a failure in it over a crappy typing system. ------------------- Forum Academiae President Rome

I can type fairly quickly and accurately without a class to tell me how. I dont use either of my pinkies very often, but I can type almost perfectly without looking at the keyboard. I do stretch across the keyboard sometimes with my index finger, but its okay because I can type 75WPM. ------------------- <force> elch...Im only epic because I have you as inspiration

Agreed about the keyboarding class. I think the Dvorak system doesn't necessarily enable you to type faster either. My friend uses dvorak and gets about 90wpm, and I use qwerty and have like 95wpm. I also don't touchtype. ._. quote JesusLots of people here viewed drama as the slacker class really, because the year 9 syllabus was a lot of acting and no coursework and stuff. I like acting, but not drama because of all the coursework you have to do. ------------------- ![]()

My drama class is so ridiculously fun, that no one cares how much theory there is. The only theory we really do(apart from exams) is our log book, which is simply writing a page or two on what we did in the lesson. The lessons go for an hour, so it really isnt hard to fill the space, it's just remembering to do it every day. There are the people who picked it for the slacking, but they do really bad performances, so are failing. Serves them right. How dare they not take Drama seriously. ------------------- <force> elch...Im only epic because I have you as inspiration

The class I probably excel in is Math, it isn't my most-liked subject but I always do well in it.

quote RomeI'm fairly sure he understands the concept, it's just that in Australia it's unfamiliar to us, as there's no class for typing. All our classes tend to be far broader, such as the obvious core subjects and some specialised subjects, but an entire subject about typing seems to have the scope of a shoe-tying class. I type at 90WMP comfortably just from using a computer over time. I guess I stand out in Legal Studies and Economics. I'm good at other subjects, but so are other people, so I don't really stand out per se. -------------------

quote Praetorian_LordHappened to one of my good mates. Everyone expected him to do awesome in English, the director of studies was even proclaiming him as the student who'd rake in a perfect score. He got 47/50, everyone just goes "WTF happened there?" Never mind he's in the top 1% of the state or anything... As for me, during school I always performed well in Maths, Chemistry and Japanese. Never got English right until Year 12 where it ended up being my best raw score -------------------

Throughout my entire academic life English has always been my best subject, though only when about 17 did it become my favourite. I just seem to have a natural gift for it, and always do well at understanding the way a text works, and at identifying ways that texts interact with one another. ------------------- ![]()

Congratulations, I made a typo. Doesn't change the fact that I'm about to graduate from university with either First Class or Upper Second Class honours though so forgive me if I'm not too devastated by your observations. ------------------- ![]()

quote dearest apolloI would have to say History, English, and VERy surprisingly Math last semester. Througout high school I always had the highest grade in history and one semester was the only student to get an A in the class. OUr teacher was quite insane. In senior year my SAT essays were published in a book to help students grasp the concept of writing SAT essays, the best part is I didn't even finish my essays on the exam and still got 11/12. In precalc last semester I got an B+ which is not impressive for most but it is to me! I usually have a very very hard time in mathematics. Even though I like the subject I suck at it. ------------------- And you think that unto such as you a maggot-minded, starved, fanatic crew God gave a secret, and denied it me? Well, what matters it?
