I was bored yesterday so I just started looking back through some old reviews that I wrote 2 or 3 years ago.
My very first Review that I uploaded to Neo in May of 2005 was for San Andreas. Looking back at it now and I can't believe how short it is.
Even more embarrassing is my MGS3 Snake Eater Review that I uploaded 3 days later after SA in 2005. I've no idea why I only gave it a 3. Maybe I forget to change the score as 3 is the default score.
On the same day I uploaded a Review for Burnout 3. All I did was mention the bad points and good points then finish off with a score. Terrible.

Isn't it amazing how we can go from writting such awful quality reviews to the quality stuff that we all write today?

So what reviews are you ashamed of?

Honestly, all I did before this year. I'd go back and re-do them all, but what better way to show progress in reviewing? I think one of my better reviews from the past was Gears of War, but even that was short.

How dare you give MGS3 a 3, Mnmfan? That's my favorite MGS game, heh.

I disliked MGS2 solely because of Raiden.

The first review I had ever written was for the game that brought me onto Neo in the first place, Mario Kart: Double Dash. The review can be seen here, or can be read below, because it is sooooo small:

SUMMARY:

THE BAD:

1.This game is a lot different from the episodes because it is not in orderly fashion like the episodes.
For Example
Since when in the episodes can the Great Saiyaman face off against Raditz???

2.Since when can you use Kid Trunks as soon as u begin?

For example
Since when does kid trunks appear in Vegeta saga??

3. DRAGONWORLD!!!

4. No cut scenes!

5.Fusions/potaras cant be used outside their own stages where you got them

6.Kid Buu was made too strong while Cell (unlike in Budokai) was made way too weak

7.You can't fuse in the World Tournament mode.

8.When you get to 99% worth of capsules it becomes impossible to find 1 that you don't already own

I have only written 4 (all of them in the last week[Edit: Obviously]) and I am fairly happy with all of them, to be honest.

yes both of them from 2003 for Morrowind and Commandos 2 on the xbox. Back then I didn't know what "standards" were nor was I into writing as much as I am now. The rest I feel hit the standards and the ones from this year are certainly above standards.

I would not say that I am ashamed or embarrassed by past reviews. I am definitely more proud of my reviews from the past 2-3 years (since they are much better quality than my early reviews). Not everybody starts at high-quality reviews right off the bat. Most people on the site started out with reviews that were very minimal (mainly because that was what was accepted at the time). Since reviews are more important these days, the general quality of them has gone way up. It's quite impressive, not just looking at my reviews, but reviews by everyone in general.

Yeah it is true that the quality in Reviews in this past year has skyrocketed.

I'm ashamed of my Bully review.

Heh, I've only done a couple or so but, I must say, they're pretty bad. I'd never write them (let alone accept them) today.
