re: The gameplay

When i played the game i first stepped into the campaign before hitting the online play up. The campaign is nothing revolutionary, and its not open world like you would expect. The paths aren't exactly narrowed, but everything pretty much leads from way point to way point and from level to level. So basically the campaign as far as ive played is nothing spectacular, but its worth some play time. However, when i jumped online, i thoroughly enjoyed how the game worked. It seemed kind of like a different experience. There are only 3 game types. DM, TDM, and CTF. The 3 pretty much standard game types for most videogames. However, there are plenty of levels and fun to be had here. Im sure we will be seeing some new updates for the online play in the future, but with what you are given its still plenty to look forward to. The online play is easily the most highlighted aspect of the game. Give the campaign a try, if you dont like it, then play online. It gave me a better perspective.

re: The gameplay

As a MASSIVE fan of the original, Im a bit disappointed with this new edition of BC. I absolutely loved the NES game. I downloaded rearmed on the day it came out, and I couldve cried it was so good. It was all the same, as I remembered, just with better bosses and a sleek look, and a few nice abilities thrown in there.

This game is beyond frustrating to me. The swinging has a definate learning curve on it. Having to look and aim where to swing from is such a pain in the ass. Had the swinging been done like Spiderman, this game would Own.

I feel like the game has WAY too many cheap deaths in it. You no more than get onto a roof that you thought was safe, and you find out its radiated. Guess what, you wont make it off that roof. About 3 seconds is the magic timeframe to get out and live. Too short of a timeframe.

Water is the same way. You mean to tell me that I have an oxygen meter that only lasts 3 seconds? Im fine with the whole "sink like a rock" thing, but 3 seconds in water thats barely over my head? Come ON!!

Then they give you the vast expanses over open water where one missed swing brings up that game over screen and you start from way back wherever your last auto save was.

The gunplay and weapons are pretty blah. Only being able to carry 2 weapon types and a grenade is kinda lame, considering that rearmed shattered the one weapon barrier and allowed us to use all unlocked weapons through the game.

I like the special abilities, but some of the combat is just crappy. Getting Pwnd by guys with stun sticks before I can even hit them is a bit lame.

No replay value either, you can replay levels, but you cant complete challenges or achievements in the replay levels. You also cant use your upgrades when you go back. Its start over from scratch time, baby.

Its a decent start, Im glad that BC is back in the fold after so many years. Heres hoping a sequel irons out the kinks, simplifies the swinging and amps up the gunplay just a bit more. Oh yeah, and let us play back through as the maxxed out BC guys, thats where the fun is, becoming an unstoppable badass and just running rampant over the enemies.

re: The gameplay

im not gonna lie my friend, i feel like with the popularity this game is bringing out, that there is not going to be a sequel. i mean sequels have been made for bad games before, but this title just isnt big enough. however you only highlighted the solo play. the online play is freakin fun no doubt about, not mention i rock this game online, so that alwayz makes it funner for me, when im actually good at a game and all. like i said, dont like solo, play multiplayer i find it to be a blast.
