Familiars RAWK!

I've come to the conclusion that having familiars is the way to go in this game. After spending gawd knows how many hours plugging my money and resources into maintaining my weapon durability, I decided to try something different.

Now, all my characters are equipped with familiars. Fire, Earth, Metal and Water familiars, for the most part. The beauty of these little guys is, you don't have to worry about durability upkeep, and they only get stronger the more you use them. Plus, it seems easier to get five-move combos on your enemies when you're only using spells.

Here are the spells I tend to use most often;

Fire Familiar - fire arrows
Earth Familiar - boulder
Metal Familiar - shock
Water Familiar - ice needle

re: Familiars RAWK!

I wouldn't say so. You can easily repair your stuff with the Quick-Fix ability so you dont have to spend any money for materials. It is really wrong to repair weapons etc. with material, their weight changes most of the time and they often loses abilities. Quick-Fix is good. Also, magic, especially the spells you are using, are worse in damaging HP and LP as high-level weapon abilities (such as Reverse Delta, the level 4 Axe abilitie, simply the best ;p).

re: Familiars RAWK!

I dunno, it seems to be working for me extremely well thus far. Currently, I'm on the last level for Mythe's mission, and I doubt I would have been able to get through some of the other missions as quickly as I did without some strong familiar firepower.

re: Familiars RAWK!

I don't know. I never really understood the whole systematics of this game. And when I thought I did, something would happen and then my whole theorised ideas were out the window.

Like how the bosses and enemies have differing HP and LP amounts. The same enemies, mind you.

I like the game and all, and I am determined to beat one of the scenarios, but, at present, I find that I have little patience for the game. So I'll come back to it at a later date, I guess.

re: Familiars RAWK!

Yeah, I've pretty much given up on trying to figure out the systematics and just stick to working out my own strategies for missions and whatnot. It's actually pretty addicting, in my opinion, once you get used to how not to die.

re: Familiars RAWK!

That's always it!

I was so rapped when I figured out how to beat the sunken city mission and ended up recruiting this awesome noble guy into my party.

I think I might one day soon return to playing this game...
