you don't really go to mermaid tower.

mermaid tower is in the giant forest. after you find the nature spirit memory. it will be open the way to giant forest.

how to find the nature spirit of memory... you need to wait till 24th of winter and needs to plant more than 20 pointsettias( not sure about the spelling..sorry ) to be harvested before the christmas party.. and on the evening of 24th..go to the mayors house to join the party and talk to everyone then go and talk to dr. hope and he'll ask you to leave..say yes.. and you'll be heading to the dr.'s house and then the spirit of memory will be there..along the way... ..( hope this helps... )
