What could the 'monster' be? Could it be just another Godzilla? (I hope not) Could it be a "Not from this world" Infectious beast that roams the stars? I haven't seen it (And im sure many others havent as it just got in theaters today! So no spoilers!) It seems like it's something infectious to me. For those of you who have played a videogame called Halo (Im sure many have), do you remember Gravemind? It's a giant octopus beast that roams the stars, infecting every galaxy it comes across with a disease/parasite called the Flood. Could it be something like that? (Hence in the preview there is a woman in a tent screaming in pain, then appears to explode or transform into something gruesome). Post your thoughts.

Well it was alright if you want a monster flick.
But I wanted a good movie.

It's rent for a very boring day.

They never said.
The camera man said that there was a fissh in the ocean that was extinct for years and just found.
So maybe the monster was the same.
Then they said it could be from outer space.

Its good that they had no explanation, the movie wasn't about the monster it was about the people trying to escape. JJ Abrhams said that it has been underwater for thousands of years thats the closest back round you'd get about the monster. The movie isn't bad its good if you want to be entertained.

Just got home from seeing it. I thought it was a very good movie. If you're looking for just another "monster" flick, ala Godzilla as BigAnjoe might have been then, yes, you may be disappointed.

If you don't mind the shaky cam like the Blair Witch Project, or the Bourne series then this style is very similar. The plot, as krazyboys mentioned, is about this group of people trying to escape and their ordeals they go through during this whole experience. If you look at it from that view you will enjoy the movie much more for what it really is.

BigAnjoe, please remember to keep spoilers hidden; I've edited your one post. If I had read that before I saw the movie I would have been very very upset.

I loved the movie. You get plenty of great views of the monster even in the beggining, you get to see exactly what it is so don't think you wont get any explanation as to what it looks like. The movie was great, the shaky camera made you feel as if you were really there. Also, I thought it was very scary and had some creepy moments (the subway), too.

I thot it was a pretty good movie actually. Very action packed. It was sort of life like and got good reviews, although if u want a horror movie, this isn't 1. As for the monster i thot it was an ancient beast that crept out of some crevice in the sea.

I thought it was a very good film, i was only disappointed in the ending.

My favorite part is when they were in the helicopter and the monster was thought to be dead but then attacked them.
