I'm still wondering if I should get this game or not, so any opinions would be greatly appreciated.

I love this game, its so fun to play online. Better than shitty COD4.

I know this forum is for the appreciation of R6V2 and I do find it enjoyable but i still prefer Cod4 maybe it'll just take me a while watchin R6V2 pixel by pixel slow-mo mode, how can you turn the slow motion off:P:P(joke)

A while ago when Rainbow 6 3 came out, it was fantastic because it was up to date with every other game out there. Now, it's using the same recycled engine while everyone is stepping it up.

This had so much promise but to me it felt like a $60 expansion pack.

Compared to COD it isnt much, feels the same as every other Rainbow 6 tbh, nothing really new added. Only thing i think it beats COD on is Co-op online and off. Other than that.... 7/10 for me!

there both fps's and thats about where the similarities end. COD4 is an action war game wheras rb is a tactical shooter, its unlikely you are going to go charging into battle if you are been tactical which is what the game calls for, and why it has that type of cover mode. the maps demonstrate this even more, COD4s have plenty of open space, snipe points and some maps or close quarters(i dont think they work so well as there is no cover so people just charge around corners with shotguns)wheras rbs maps are full of twists and turns where there is plenty of cover so you can work your way forward tactically.

anyways i wouldnt flog this game, i loved COD4 but after so long playing it its lost its edge, its still great but i havent played it in over two months, and i cant imagine playing it as often as i use to in the next year, so at least i will have rb to put on when im bored.

saying that there are things i am dissapointed with about the game
1.cant change weapon online during game for when you respawn
2.online maps seem poorly constructed and very scattered
3.switching to your pistol is suppose to be quicker than reloading(even stated this on a load screen on the first vegas)but it takes longer or the same time in this game(COD4 got that perfect, the pistols have some decent stopping power in it as well, so many times i ran out of bullets and did a quick switch to my pistol whilst the opponent was reloading and i killed them, its awesome.
4.why didnt they put more co-op modes in after the success of terroroist hunt!i would have loved some of the modes from GRAW to be in it, like the defend one where you have to defend a base against shiit loads of AI for a set time with no respawns. 5.why didnt they leave the old maps in and add 13 new ones to give a good choice and variety, i know there is enough space, i mean streets is only 93mb and these discs are massive. but i think its prolly because they will want to release a pay for map pack like everybody seems to these days.
ive seen games that have been released for no more than a week and already have downloadable content for a fee, and i dont just mean those crappy picture packs.

anyways theres some of the reasons not to get it but i still like it even though it is the same old stuff, since its the last in the vegas series i think they will be shuffling it up for the next installment

Plus, Rainbow is a hell of a lot harder than COD4. After playing R6, I went back to COD4 to play with some friend and regardless of me basically forgetting the controls I was on top of the team everytime and had a little under a 2 k/d everytime.

I think the reason I like it so much is because I have never played the first and everyone says it is basically an expansion pack. So R6 veterans hate it and R6 newbies love it.

But that just means that your opponents were easy. To say that the game is easy, you have to be referring to the single player experience, not online.

The main reasons why I am disappointed is that it's not a new game. It's Vegas 1.5. They have tried nothing innovative and the graphics have barely been updated.

COD 4 looks better and has a much better single player plot. Vegas's is nothing more than forgettable. Also if you play COD 4 and then play Vegas, the controls on COD are much smoother and easier to get along with.

Now don't get me wrong, I don't hate the game. I just think it's not worthy of being called a sequel when it's pretty much an expansion pack.

I actually was referring to online. Seriously, it isn't that hard. People are so predictable. Throw a grenade at a choke point and get three kill. Just throw a random grenade and get a kills. Losing a flag in domination and you throw a grenade right at it and get two kills. One more leads to a UAV which leads to an airstrike which leads to a chopper which leads to five kills. Come on, it isn't difficult. Just watch the objective from a good distance away. It isn't that hard. Now by no means am I claiming to be and expert at the game but it isn't terribly difficult.

On the other hand, Rainbow is a brand new game to me and is tougher. Currently I'm getting owned but learning in the process.

Also, I say Veteran campaign is harder than online.

It is all a matter of opinions and right now I prefer my new Vegas game as oppose to my old COD game.

Tom Clancy games are, and always will be more difficult than COD games...

oh my, cod4 on veteran is the gayest game ever. sit in one place for longer than 5secs and get 5nades throw at you, its annoying as hell, and people just keep on spawning till you move forward, your allies never move forward until you do. rb has its problems too like.

cod4 has a forgettable story, they all do, non of them have an innovative story its all just some terrorists has this or has stolen that or is planning on this.$$COD4 SPOILER$$the thing that made cod4s campaign good was some of the visuals and other moments, like when the marine dies when the chopper crashes that looked awesome, or the ending when everybody dies just about.
