I just got this game a few days ago and i have completed the campaign (fun) and done some terrorist hunts (also fun) and i seem to do alright on those but when i go to xbox live i get completely dominated. When i come to a person they kill me in about half a second but when i come up behind a person it can take me several seconds to kill them. Maybe they use more powerful guns or maybe I'm just not hitting them (although I'm pretty sure that i am). So any advice on strategies or guns to use or anything else that might be helpful would be greatly appreciated.

I find myself using the FAMAS quite a bit online, with a high capacity magazine. It's very accurate with little kick, so it's a worthy weapon. I'd also suggest the M8 or the L85A2

Unlock the 500 Tactical and pray to whoever it is that you pray to the host doesn't restrict it so you can use it.

Personally, I got a lot of kills sometimes just by being the high-capacity magazine on the M468 and spraying.

When you shoot try not to be running that much. Stand still and shoot or walk and shoot. You can see your crosshair and your bullets wont fly everywhere.

If it is taking you several seconds to kill someone it sounds like it may be your connection. Certain weapons are obviously more powerful than others but at the end of the day a hit is a hit, especially a head shot. When you choose an online game always look at the 'ping', these are the green, yellow and red dots, green the best red the worst. Always try and find a game with a green or yellow ping, if it's red just avoid it. This game takes quite a while to get the feel of and after a period of time you will find a gun that suits you. See you on the battlefield.

But dont you have to get to a certain rank to get the 500, but i use the other shotgun(forget name) and it does me wonders, SPAS thats the 1.

i use the p90 it is alright at medium distance and great at short. i highly recommend it.

500 tactical on vegas junkyard pwns but only if you respawn where the trucks are not where the office is. So you go to the offices across the enemy respawn point and hide then wait for people to come and shoot them with the 500 tactical.

Speaking of online, is the online any good?

that it is I suggest you start on unranked as you can stay with the same group , but ranked is ok too

Let me tell you this game is frustrating when you suck but as you gradually get better its becomes fun pwning little noobs in COD4 you can be good in like a week ive been playing vegas for like a month now and iam still crap but sometimes iam really good. Dont compare it to COD4 thats a noob game, you can tell that because i played COD4 for approximately 3 hours on a ps3 and i got pretty good and when i got onto vegas its serious punishment. Online is good but very occasionally very very laggy games and even get disconnected alot. Stick with COD4 if you like to play with noobs and pwn them but get vegas2 if you want to get pwned but pwn after you get pwned.
