HD Ready? |
|
Okay, I've found an LCD TV that I want to get. It says that it's HD ready. Does this mean that it is HD, or do I have to get something extra. I want to get the right TV because I'll be thinking about getting a PS3 soon. ------------------- ![]() The future is not set. There is no fate but what we make for ourselves.

It says "HD ready" because it's capable of outputting an HD signal, but you need the necessary cords, etc. to get that signal in the first place (i.e. component, DVI, or HDMI cables). You also need an HD receiver, or a PS3 or 360 (something capable of sending an HD signal). ------------------- ![]() The World is Yours

So when I play my PS3 on it it should be fine? Great, thanks. That's all that really matters at the moment. ------------------- ![]() The future is not set. There is no fate but what we make for ourselves.

Yeah, you'll just need to get an HDMI cable to hook it up with and you're all set to play in high def. ------------------- ![]()

If you're from the UK then i believe HD ready means it can only output 720p and 1080i, whereas if it were to say Full HD, this is normally written on a gold sticker somewhere on the TV usually the top right corner, this would mean that the TV can output in 720p, 1080i and 1080p resolutions. ------------------- PSN - C_R_99

No, HD Ready means that it can show high definition pictures but it does not contain a built-in HDTV tuner. Full HD and HD Ready aren't the same thing as Full HD is in fact an advertising term to descibe 1080p. ------------------- ![]() Education Forum|Books & Literature Forum
