ok well brought the game installed on girlfriends laptop and it works fine install it onto desktop and the game enters like normal then all of a sudden goes black i can still hear the music and everything right up to the main menu and the thing is if i wave the mouse around enough i can click things on the menu yet i cant see ANYTHING because the whole screen is black ive read on the internet about requirements and i have XP girlfriends laptop has XP i have service pack 3, im sure she has service pack 2, thing is ive read you need service pack 2 but ive read else where you need service pack 3. can someone help me get into the game so i can play, ive tryed uninstalling service pack 3 in add/remove programs but it doesnt work. thank you

A black screen is usually indicative of a problem with the video card. Being that you are using a laptop, I am willing to bet that your video card doesn't meet the spec. I would visit the site below and run the tool. It will let you know where you stand, spec-wise.

Sorry, I misread your post. Just because it's a desktop, that doesn't mean it automatically meets the spec. Did you run the tool in the link I gave you?
