I have been meaning to replay this game, and the Trophies will give me an additional incentive. I think I'll get them all for this one.

This is good news for people into Trophies. It will give some GTA IV PS3 owners the possible impetus to replay the game to add too their trophy connection.

I literally haven't played GTA4 in months. It'll be nice to play it again. Although I'm not looking forward to getting all those damn pigeons for a THIRD damn time!

Are they identical to the achievements or different? What is the deal with trophies anyway? If they have now been "invented", why can't every game that is being released have them? Do Sony not force devs into adding them like MS do?

There is only one difference between the XBOX360 achievements and the Trophies (okay two), the first being the former is based on a numbers, and the latter is based on coloured trophies. The second difference is that the Playstation 3 version has an extra "trophy" which is the one you get for getting all the trophies (the Platinum Trophy).

As for getting it for all games, it takes a very long time to create the patch for trophies, and on top of that it takes a while to test it out, and some game developers just can't be arsed to do that.

As for sony not forcing devs, well... simply put, they'd like the devs to add them, but they know that when it's not possible, it's not possible. So far only the first party games have really been able to have Trophies, and even then, not all first party games. Most developers never set aside time for that, and so couldn't add it even if the game hadn't been released because it would mean more time would be required, meaning a delayed release, which we all don't want. So their stance is "if we can patch it in, we will. If not, bugger off.

Sorry Krunal when I asked if they were identical I actually meant are the requirements in GTA 4 on the PS3 the same as the ones in the 360 version.

Ah, in that case it's sort of answered by me above anyway, but yes, they're exactly the same, word for word, with that extra trophy that I mentioned.

I figured that this was going to happen, that's why I haven't been bothered to beat GTAIV 100% yet.
