No, there is no such rule. Most people find it silly but your post will not get deleted.

If we should make any rule (and i'm not saying we should), we should make a rule that involves a voting/confirmation process where at least 2/3/x amount of people have to agree with a post you put forward, and then the link to that quote can be put in the first post of the thread. This way we can index the best of the best etc.

It seems that just because we have a hall of fame thread, we HAVE to post in it which is obviously not the case.

There shouldn't be as many posts as there are in the thread because frankly no place is that funny.

People seem to be posting there because the thread is there. Before the thread there were hardly any LOL that post is brilllllliant

I think binding up a quotations thread with rules might make it a lot less sponteous. The thread is for quoting things that a member feels is worth quoting, whether it be their own posts or someone else's. I would probably clamp down if someone spammed the thread up with self-aggrandizing attention seeking quotes, but we have a thread there that is 4 pages in almost a month and a half. This is not exactly some runaway train of a thread.

But you've also got to look at the type of thread that it is. This thread should have less posts than a normal one.

I see your point, but I just don't think that I want to make that rule. I don't honestly see the good it would serve. If people were habitually abusing the fact that I allow self-quoting, I would be more inclined to give it more serious thought, but there doesn't seem to be an outbreak of self-quoting spam posts. In short, it isn't creating issues in the forum.

Is there any possible way you can make the forum more colorful? I am thinking rainbows arcing to and fro, perhaps a big banner of Toucan Sam?



Look, while I believe it would be a wonderful and liberating event for the forum, I am not suggesting you fill the header with explicit pictures of my rainbow genitalia. But would a Froot Loops forum theme really be too much to ask?
