quote Final Blade Sounds interesting. But I would like to see another GTA game that takes place in the UK, even if it's London again, so that we'll finally have a 3D GTA game in London. Or perhaps a one that takes place in Canada. -------------------

re: Grand Theft Auto V |
quote BerginNot necessarily. They will use whoever they need to if the original "star" is not available to them. In Liberty City Stories they probably did not have the budget to use Michael Madsen for the lead character, Tony Cipriani, or the actor wasn't available. So they used someone else to play the up and coming Leone Capo. Also in Liberty City Stories, they DID NOT use the same voice actress for Maria, which I found very odd, to be honest. They used the same actress for her in both III and San Andreas, so why not in LCS? Obviously, since the show must go on (or the game must be created) they will not be held back by the lack of availability of a voice over actor. Since GTA: Next will have a HUGE budget, they most certainly will pay more if need be for the same Niko (if he is going to be a major character, I mean) but will make the game they want irrespective of whether they can or cannot get him. So my original point stands. If they choose to use Niko as the next protagonist or as a guest star of some sort, they will not decline using him if, say the actor is unavailable or they cannot hammer out a deal. ------------------- ![]() It's official. That's right, I forgot all about Donald Love and Phil Cassidy. Although, you could argue that Phil's voice changed a lot over the course of 15 years, but then most adult's voices do not change that much even in that time.

re: Grand Theft Auto V |

How was the lead character in a full game a minor character? Tony Cipriani was a major player in GTA III as well, but was the lead character in LCS. In addition, while Maria seemed inconsequential or "minor" she really was not. The GTA fanbase was metaphorically in love with her, which is why she had a role near the end of San Andreas. She then was a MAJOR player as Tony's girlfriend in LCS.
My point is not that Rockstar will not TRY their best to get the original actor, only that it would not hold them back from making the game they want if the actor says no or they canot hammer out an agreement. ------------------- ![]() It's official. Not to mention the fact the fans love the ORIGINAL actors who played them, disregarding Niko as most of the fans don't give a crap about him(I like him though.

Actually, while I do THINK you are wrong, you have one card to play that I cannot argue: You could say that the reason that Rockstar did not go for Michael Madsen and the actress that played Maria for LCS is because it was a portable game and the development budget was minuscule compared to the development budget for a full sized console GTA game. I assumed you would argue that for a full size console sequel or even prequel to GTA IV, that they would basically pay the Niko actor anything he wanted within reason, assuming they wanted to make Niko a player.
So while I think you were wrong, you really aren't, because both arguments have merit. ------------------- ![]() It's official. I have truly become a babysitter on Neo. Redemption, I want my $7.00 an hour!

Chiro, even if that PSP did have a smaller budget, it's ridiculous for R* NOT to get the original actor. The fact of the matter is, niko isn't a likeable character and neither is roman. So I do not see R* venturing in another title having either of these two characters as the main ones. Maybe a small cameo but from my view Roman and Niko's quest is over.

Two COMPLETELY FALSE statements, FB. First, budget has EVERYTHING to do with it. Budget is ironclad in production of a game, There is either enough money to pay the particular talent you want or there isn't. I cannot, for one second, even begin to imagine paying a HUGE actor like Michael Madsen to voice a LEAD CHARACTER. Do you have ANY IDEA how much money an actor on his level would charge to voice a huge role like that in a title? As for your second point, I personally didn't like Niko or Roman, but a lot of people did.
Stop talking as if your OPINION is fact, when it isn't. ------------------- ![]() It's official. I have truly become a babysitter on Neo. Redemption, I want my $7.00 an hour!

Actually my point still stands, I cannot for one second at all think that R* would not attempt or not bring back the ORIGINAL actor who played the character a second time. That's like me choosing another actor to play Carl and Officer Ten Penny as both was outstanding actors to have played the part and having someone else voice them would lose the impact they brought to those characters in San Andreas. The point is, when you have an ICONIC character who FANS love alot, you have to be the dumbest person alive to not bring back the original voice character either for a sequel main role or just a cameo. Rockstar has enough money in their belt to shed some greens to pick them. That was my point. Budget aside, if I was rockstar, I'd do everything in my power to try and bring that actor who every die hard fans knows who truly exemplifies that role.
As for Niko and Roman, sure I may have liked them as Braden and others, that's not debateable but if you look at the entire GTA fanbase, and you look at the previous characters in the games, these two characters pale in comparison for popularity. ------------------- Welcome to Crisis Core forum Welcome to Bad Company 2 God of War 3 official forum community
