Games Discussion: Part IV

Continue from here.

I believe we were discussing FIFA 10.

I'm looking forward to Uncharted 2 and Fallout 3 GOTY Edition, which both come out next Friday here. It'll cost £30 for the GOTY edition, which contains all five DLC packages, plus the original game. Buying them on the PSN store would cost about £40, and you don't get the physical copy.

So that's a nice deal.

re: Games Discussion: Part IV

Aw, I still remember the first GD thread.

Anyway, games I'm looking forward to this month are Brutal Legend, Uncharted 2, Fallout 3 (GOTY), Borderlands.

R&C might be worth looking into, but theres only a slim chance I'll be getting it.

I'm going to ignore your thoughts.
And how is this any different from any discussion you participate in on this site? Seriously, it seems to me like you ignore every opinion that is divergent with yours, and that this is irrespective of the salient points of the person you are arguing with.
It is different, cause how on earth mnmfan would know how to make a game 6 months in and think it'd look terrific is reason enough for me to ignore his comment. Fact of the matter is that game was only a 6 months build, it probably wasn't even full 6 months being worked on they could have had other projects in the mix. He thinks it sucks, the same guy who said Batman: Arkhams Asylum looked repetitive and boring. Yet he played it and thought it was a brilliant game.

So tell me why I should take his comment seriously?
I'm not saying he can't have an opinion but I just can't see how anyone would think a game 6 months in would be great. I liked the way it was going, I thought it looked good, hell better than most superhero games 6 months in.

I have a good reason to ignore his comment. The other times I just ignore it to get out of the debate. Be glad I do that.

Irrespective of how long it took to create, it looks terrible. He's not saying 'it looks good for 6 months' or 'it looks bad for 6 months'. He's just saying it looks bad, full stop. You don't have to like his opinion, you need only respect it as his own and leave it at that.

Accept his opinion and shut the *bleep* up.

First of all, I NEVER claimed it should look terrific. If you bothered to read and comprehend my post you would see that I DID NOT say it was crap because of how it looks in it's pre-vis state. I wasn't complaining about the graphics, textures or the animation. What I AM complaining about is the direction in which the developers are taking the game. The style and basic direction of the game looks crap. After 6 months developers usually have a fair idea as to where the game is going. It just looks like the beginnings of a VERY mediocre game. Like seeing a turd halfway out. You might not know what the final product will look like but you know it'll be shit either way.

Secondly, I NEVER said BAA looked boring and repetitive. I simply said I had no interest in it because I'm not a Batman fan.

Thirdly, I also never said I hate super heroes. I might not play every single Super Hero game but that doesn't mean I hate them.

Wasn't talking about the graphics, so I really have no clue what you're going on about. But it doesn't matter.

Anyway: Beat Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 yesterday and I can easily say it's much better compared to Ninja Gaiden 2 from 360. Hopefully it get's more sales than the first sigma, every solid title with much replay value with team missions and chapter challenge and stuff.

I'm just starting a brand new game of GTAIV.

Never did complete it first time but just felt in the mood to play it again.

I played some of it, then looked on youtube for some chapter vids and talked to others: It's very polished and less spamming of INCENDIARY SHURIKEN and magic spells. based off my experience and what I heard from others and rest on youtube, NG2 spams alot of throwing shurikens and spells that all it does is piss people off cause the difficulty is cheap. The AI isn't that great cause Itagaki don't have people who can make a tougher AI. Hayashi took out the spamming made the AI much more challenging tweaked some other things and alot of people like myself says it's definitely better and a definitive version over NG2.

Only thing people miss is the IS(INCENDIARY SHURIKEN), WS(winmill Shuriken), lack of huge blood and gore but really the action is so packed that you immediately forget about those things in the heat of the battle. Best action game current for PS3 hands down. it'll tide you over til God of War Collection and that'll tide you over til God of War 3.

Had an argument with the fiance yesterday so I stormed out, went into town and treated myself to a game. There wasn't a lot of choice in terms of what game to get so I settled on Godfather 2.
I'm not expecting much from it thought as it looks kinda crap from the back of the case.

When you argue with your partner and storm out, you don't go and buy a poxy bloody game you go & get pissed and disappear for a few days, stay at a mates or something if you don't get lucky.

Give it a few days and she'll come crawling back to you within a few days whether she was in the right or not.

re: Games Discussion: Part IV

I really enjoyed The Godfather 2, Pat. Took me a little more than a week to get the Platinum, which was actually really satisfying to do. Fun and varied gameplay, and it doesn't go on so long as to be repetitive, and it's not too short. If you didn't pay full price for it (which I didn't) then I think you'll feel reasonably happy with your purchase.
