So, does anyone have the Game of the Year? This game is absolutely amazing. I've been playing it nonstop. Anyone got a first impression?

Yeah of course I have it. Bloody fantastic. I made the stupid mistake of playing the game during the day when my fiance was in the mood to talk rubbish while I'm trying to pay attention to the tv. Seriously it's like she does it on purpose. She'd have nothing to say all morning but as soon as I pick up the sixaxis she wants to talk about "so what are you getting me for Xmas?", "none of us like turkey so how about we have chicken instead", "oh I saw a gorgeous dress in Dunnes Stores earlier, it'll look lovely with those heels you got me", "will you put the bins out later?" etc etc.
I just kept nodding my head and said "yes love" occasionally. Seemed to work.

So yeah I kinda lost track of the whole story but I'll be playing it through again anyway.
I played a couple games online too and I was very impressed.

I have literally heard nothing but awesome things about this game. I was about to order it (literally on Amazon ready to hit the submit order button) when my Dad called me up and told me he ordered the Hardened Edition, and not to order it because he did, and I could just take his copy when he is done with it. The reviews this one is getting are very impressive.

It's trolls man. This game is 10/10 material for an FPS. Hell, for any game.

That's cause you don't think as normal people do It's the best FPS to ever come out, fact. No FPS beats it, not even Goldeneye 007.

And don't reply with 'But I've watched every mission on Youtube' cos that's a bullshit defence and I refuse to believe even you are stupid enough to believe that watching some Youtube videos is the same as playing the game.

You don't have it, you have zero interest in it and you won't be getting it. WE GET IT!

It is indeed as Gregm said the best FPS ever made. Yes it's better then Golden Eye, Timesplitters 2, Resistance, Black and Killzone 2.

Seriously FB, if you have no interest in the game (other then to post as much negativety as you possibly can about it) then don't enter the thread.

Haven't played it but I doubt I would think it's the best FPS.I would still say Timesplitters 2 would be the best for my tastes.The hunour and unlockables is what makes the TS series my favourite FPS series of all time.


It could be better than Goldeneye or Black though.I didn't particularly like GE and Black sucked.



I would play the MW series if I had friends to lend it to me but that's not the case.Sure I could rent the game but I don't rent games.

It's a nice game. The best FPS ever? Not for me, but I was never one of these raving COD4 fans. I'm enjoying the game, online and offline, but people are trying to make the game live up to its hype a bit too much in my opinion. The game is a true sequel. It's basically COD4 with a few refined features. That's not to say it's a bad game, again, it's a very good game. Infinity Ward played it safe.

It's not making me think "that is one of the coolest things I've ever seen in a game" like Uncharted 2 did. I really hope it doesn't get to be Game of the Year. That's for Uncharted 2: Among Theives, it simply has to be. Because if MW2 gets it over the technical masterpeice that was Uncharted 2, with it's "more of the same" stance and 600p resolution graphics, what hope does that give games industry? It's a great game, but for my personal standards, it did not do enough to earn Game of the Year.

Overall, 7/10 for me. For my personal tastes:

6/10 Graphics (600p, that's not even HD resolution, still looks good though)
7/10 Gameplay (Great fast and fun multiplayer, hardcore COD4 fans will be in heaven to see their favourite gameplay further refined)
6/10 Story (It's fun, not sure the story is told very well, though)
7/10 Sound (Guns sound great and the music simply works)

So, yeah, there's my analysis.
