I honestly find it very strange that Treyarch would go back to WW2 if Call of Duty 4 was Modern Warfare... they should probably continue with Modern for a few games... then maybe eventually Future Warfare... I don't see why they skipped some of the other wars though... even if they wouldn't make great games.

if its ww2 atleast there wont be any grenade launching n00b tubes lol. but im sure there will be something new and very lame put in the game to replace it lol.

i seriously hope cod doesnt go to future war. battlefield tried it and what a failure it was! personally i think they should continue you with modern warefare as WW1 and WW2 has been done to death!

I hope they introduce drivable vehicles in the game. There are so many tanks lying around and you can't drive them.

I am posting this as an end all post for this Call of Duty 5 talk. I am tired of seeing a rumors post about this game every single day flooding our Forums. I have stated over and over official details and nobody seems to listen or read them because the next day people post a new thread.

About the Game...

No beta is set to be released. Treyarch isnt very big on that type of stuff. IW actually didnt want a BETA either but Activision felt it was best to create even more anticipation.

Class will be open. There will be "Gun Classes"
Rifles
Single Bolt Rifles
Light Machine Gun
Snipers
Shotguns
etc...

There will be multiple weapons that fit into those categories so its very open on what you can use. Also, the ranking up system is the same as CoD4 so you unlock more weapons as you progress. I believe I said all this on here before but no biggy always willing to answer questions for true CoD fans.


Let me set the story straight for the 100th time....

Call of Duty 5 has been confirmed and it is in the PRE-ALPHA testing phase. What this means is there are a limited number of people(testers) looking at it daily. Development and Production are doing their best to get the coding locked down so they can begin to work on the good stuff(actual stuff in the game) right now they are working out SP levels and features and the major functionality stuff for MP.

The details...

Call of Duty 5 is being made by Treyarch and is World War 2 and is being published by Activision who has published every Call of Duty game. The game however does not focus on the Pacific mainly, it bounces around from Europe to the Pacific so the SP varies quite a bit. The game is using the Call of Duty 4 engine which was originally the Quake engine. So the overall play and feel of the game is similar to Call of Duty 4. If your a Call of Duty 3 fan hoping it will be like CoD3 your out of luck...this game will not resemble CoD3 at all. MP, has potential to be really good, MLG good? Probably not. But Infinity Ward(not being bought by Bungie as Activision owns IW) has had their hands on alot in the development of this game to help in a transition. Call of Duty 5 will retain the same ranking up system which will allow you to unlock attachments and PERKS(including Juggernaut, lol) also the MP includes a wide variety of weapons, several Bolt Action rifles, several standards rifles, etc....

Overall the game is looking nice.

The game is slated for a 2008 4th quarter release or a 1st quarter 2009 release. Right now they are shooting for November with Decemeber looking like a more likely timeframe. However, Activision has taken the stance that this game will not be rushed so a delayed release would not be a surprise. And lately their have been open talks with the public about the release being pushed back as far as early 2009.

i was only a fan of WWII games mainly cuz of the M1 Garand... i really hope thats still there, but as i've heard people talking on CoD4 is that people say Treyarch is making this game, they also made CoD3, and who thought that game was incredibly terrible

The Bar is an amazing weapon! Hope they add that!

Don't ask me why...but I want some of those REALLY obscure weapons that you can't even name.

I mean...it seems all wideo games that have realistic weapons only pick well-recognized and mass-produced stuff

I wanna see a few rare officer pistols...... makeshift submachineguns...rough stuff like that... things that would be real trophies today
