Okay so we all heard the news that in the future the Call of Duty title will be dropped and we'll be left with Modern Warfare and World at War running a two different franchises, hand in hand.

So I was wondering when do we think this game will lose it's popularity? When Modern Warfare 2 comes out will this game die? Or will it's fans remain loyal?

I'm not entirely sure if a World at War 2 is confirmed? If so when is it due for release?

I'm starting to invest a lot of time into this game and I'd like to feel that it'll always have an online community, but we know eventually this game will lose it's popularity.

So I put it to you; when will this game die?

-When Modern Warfare 2 is released?, When World at War 2 is released? Just eventually through time? Or will this game become an everlasting multiplayer platform?

I personally believe that MW2 will initially steal the players from both CoD4 and 5, however CoD4 will be affected the most.

I think that after a while people will begin to favour MW2 or WaW1, leaving MW1 in a pile of disused and forgotten games.

Any release of WaW2 will definately decrease the popularity of WaW1. Unless number 2 is dreadfully useless.

I say Cod5 has at least 9 months left of good, decent fanbase.

It won't be a sequel in regards to storyline persay, it'll just be the name in the franchise. It's been officially released that the CoD franchise will split in two, so that's where the speculation of WaW2 is coming from...
