A pretty good idea for a new Resistance game (not a Resistance 3 Idea) |
|
So I just completed the game yesterday, and was searching for any R3 stuff (boredom) but then my mind wondered off, thinking about that new HALO game. I'm not sure if this is true, but I've read that it is about ordinary soldiers before/currently during the events of HALO 3. Then this game gave me an idea.
Resistance: Longed Revenge This takes place just before the events of Resistance: FOM. You are a farmer in York, poor, caring, and humble. One night he hears his pet pig sqealing. He runs over there to see what's going on. The pig is being attacked by a leaper. Though it is too late for the pig. He is in disbelief. With lightning speed he is attacked by the leaper, knocked out. He wakes up...in a tank full of green liquid. He doesn't know where he is, or how he got there. He actually doesn't know anything. What is outside the tank is hybrids and titans. He is shocked. He grabs his head in panic, only to realize he has claws..and disgusting skin. He is released from the tank soon after. A hybrid hands him a Bullseye and speaks in moans and screams. Somehoe the farmer could understand him, "Here is your first weapon, we have no time to waste. We must fight the humans". He now knows he is a chimara. he tries to fight, yet he has never held a gun, or grenades or never even drove a car. In one of the chimaran HQs, he searches for a gun. Only to find a report. "Name: Anthony Transformation: Advanced Hybrid Date: Dec. 17th, 1949" Followed by a picture of the transformation. His last name was ripped off. He looked at his reflection off the shiny wall, only to find he is Anthony. The current date is February 23rd, 1950. Anthony has become one of the most homosidle and destructive Chimaran ever. Ranked to what the Chimaran call a "Blazforma" (equivilant to a captain). Most chimara fear or envoy him. On that day, the chimara have won over Europe. Though the battle wasn't over, as they still had to fight from the likes of Britan. That was when R: FOM came in. The day Nathan Hale was deployed, Anthony has been flown over to Africa, counting on his other troops to finish Britan and American forces...he made the wrong choice. 2 days before Hale destroyed the tower, Anthony came back with victory over Africa. He was too late, as he saw this coming. Now R:2 comes in His only thought was to get out of Europe. And so the fleet came to American terretory. The fleet was flown just mineutes before Hale destroyed the tower. Anthony's flight was too close and go damaged. He crashed landed in Mexico. He and his fellow troops started to create more weapons and more defences, including advanced stalkers, goliaths, and more...Only days after, Anthony launches the attack on the west and east coasts of America. After 3 years of fighting at America, the Chimara finally see a hole in thier defence, and hopes for victory soon. Dadelous and Anthony meet. they go to Iceland together, secretly, and plan thier victory operation there. A big part of it was the Laviathan attack (the giant chimara). They were astonished when it failed. After that they retreated back to Mexico. After those events Anthony has become more destructive and dangerous. One day, he encounters Hale during his last 3 hours of his life. Anthony ignores him to prevent his death. He found the fission bomb and gave it to Dadelous. Dadelous replies "Thank you, Leeman" and walks away. Anthony is stunned. He now remembers everything...Leeman was his last name. He also remembers that was his pet pigs name. And how he was a farmer. He knew everything now, and what he has become. He dispiesed himself...he also knew that American forces wouldn't trust him to be on thier side and would kill him on the spot. Anthony grabbed a V7 Splicer...jumped off the ship, prepared to shoot, and shot his head off with the V7..... THE END Please no distaseful comments. I also apologize for mentioning an XB360 exclusoive in a PS3 exclusive forum...but I had to let you know where I got my idea, no? Discuss. ------------------- Just when you think all is lost, there he is...for the 3rd time. (Ya gettin me, right? Come on, you actually think I'm gone?)

Eh. Being a Chimera would be good for a laugh, but it would get old after a little while. The Chimera have no personality, no dialogue, no motivations, no real emotions, no story, being as them for any serious period of time doesn't exactly seem like a good idea to me.

Well, there is no proof of which, no? I can always hear the chimara moaning to one another when I enter a room.

There is no definitive proof, but there is a lot to suggest the Chimera are really little more than thralls. They cannot survive without a major telepathic force constantly telling them what to do, they clearly don't show pity or any sympathy to Humans in any circumstance no matter what, even when feelings such as hesitation or guilt should be seen. In the book the Chimera are considered hopeless pilots because they lack any sense of creativity or originality in their tactics, and clearly don't have any culture. The Angels and Daedelus obviously have some level of intelligence, and Intel mentions them sometimes having odd quirks, like carrying an old momento from their previous life, but I really doubt any of the ordinary strains have anything more than animal instincts at best. Of course Insomniac could retcon all this, but either way the story is hardly going to be compelling.

You guys have to remember that all the chimera we are fighting (including angels and daedalus), they're just humans infected with the virus. In R2 'pure chimera' were mentioned by malikov, meaning we haven't seen their true form, the ones from the other planet. So they are practically another suprerior organism.

To be specific I think it's called the European Influenza.
