Can any one help me with the demo for this game. I really wanna get a feel for it but i cant make the jump from the stone column to the stairway right at the beginning. You know when you swim from the boat to the snoe coulmn. I know this sounds hella *bleep*, but please help. There must be something i'm missing.

re: HALP!!! |
quote BurkedawgA running start helps Lara jump farther. Holding the jump button longer and harder will also help. Practice is necessary to jump right at the edge on a running jump. This is a page from Stella's walkthrough with screenshots of the section I think you're at. http://www.tombraiders.net/stella/walks/TR8walk/details/remnants4.html If that's not right click on the link at the bottom of that page to go back to the full demo walkthrough. Here's a video walkthrough of the demo on Youtube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C1P-ecet5iA The jump starts at 2:23. Note the sprint to get up speed for the jump. If you get the full game be aware that it's rather buggy. Keep a number of saves at different points in case you get stuck by a bug. Good luck.

thanks a ton for the info. It took about 30 mins to figure out the jump. Once i got it tho, i figured out this game is the tits. my first experience with Tomb Raider. i know its kinda late into the franchise to try it out but i gotta say : I love this game. Funny, ive never gotten into platforming games before but there is somethig really mind bendingly challenging about have to plan out each jump/climb/swing/vault, etc. Looking forward to picking up the full copy this weekend.

re: HALP!!! |
quote BurkedawgGlad to help. If you like that, you may like Tomb Raider: Legend and Tomb Raider: Anniversary as well. They're both recent and by the same developer. My copies of them were pretty cheap used. Legend was the reboot of the franchise, followed by Anniversary. Underworld is the most recent. You may want to consider playing them in order, for story spoiler reasons. I really like Legend for it's variety and fun. Kind of short and simple as a re-introduction to the series. If you like planning out your moves, the Tokyo level could be fun. It always gives me vertigo jumping around on top of skyscrapers. Lots of combat with people, which old-school Tomb Raiders tend to frown on. Anniversary I'm playing now. For me it's a real controller-breaker, but if you spent 30 minutes on a jump it may be right up your alley, lol. Another reason to play them in order is that the other two will probably be a letdown after Underworld in terms of gameplay. They're good, but not in the same class, going by what I've seen of it. Have fun!

quote AvveTry finding your save when you restart the game. It should be accessible from the main menu. Other than that you need expert advice. I don't have Underworld so pointers are the best I can offer. The Official Site has forums and blogs. Tomb Raider Forums has both a discussion and tech support forum. They're more likely to be offer personal support. You can search those sites, but to post there you'll have to register. Good luck. Let us know how it goes.
