I believe he was right. Man criminals finds loop holes to slip through law and get away and keep doing the crime. Yes, Light killed some innocent. Try to think about it through. It he didn't, they were going give me the death penalty. What he was doing, he truly believe he was doing the right thing. Not much choice there really. This is just my opinion anyways.

I personally don't think that any humans are fit to run the world, and that another species should step up to rule.

Well, after Light's death, if one of the SPK, Japanese Task Force, or Wammy's House members were murdered, then Light could have been right, except for killing the innocent.

And Light said that he would kill criminals and anyone that would apprehend him. He almost killed Sayu, and had Takada killed, and they didn't pursue him in any way. He even kills some of his supporters.

Light was completely and unquestionably wrong. Even if he hadn't developed his God-complex, even if he hadn't killed all those innocent people in order to retain his power, he would still have been wrong.

I could write paragraphs explaining why, but a simple summary will suffice:
It is not up to any single human being to judge the fate of another without having first been verified as a reliable character, and after having carefully studied all angles of the situation at hand in an unbiased manner, least of all such an obviously flawed young person such as Light. Only then, if the circumstances dictate that the accused person in question must be removed from society for the safety of others, it must fall to that single person or party to decide upon a sentence.
Light sentenced living people to death based on News reports and media releases. He also killed those in captivity, hence directly conflicting with the judgement of the law. He was a murderer, a serial killer, and a child that wanted only to make things that he didn't like go away.

He was just trying to turn the world into a less scummy place, which is I believe was right.
