Seth...Look Familiar? |
|
Yeah yeah, I know. This thread is probably a couple months too late. But as I was about to head off to sleep, I had the most random thought. Doesn't Seth look A LOT like Killface from Adult Swim's show, Frisky Dingo? I've always thought he looked familiar, but I could never quite place my finger on it. Opinions? Can you spot the difference?

He does look like Killface..but being more relevant to the games, he reminds me of Urien if he were fully metalized and bald..lol

I wish he was Urien, I loved beating people down with him.

They seem to have lost their originality a little with the new characters. But yeah, I can definitely see a resemblance. lol'd at the second pic in the first post.

Seth is a complete and total rip off of Geegus from World Heroes 2.
http://media.giantbomb.com/uploads/0/4737/637095-geegus_large.png Geegus was the final boss in a fighting game called World Heroes. He was a silver skinned metallic character that mimicked the moves of the other characters in the game. Sounds familiar huh? When I first saw Seth I nearly choked at how much of a rip off he was. It seems Capcom just added a floating ball to Seth's stomach and called it original. The most ironic thing is that World Heroes itself was such a shameless ripoff of Street Fighter II with many of it's characters being a,most direct ports of SFII fighters such as an evil military general that can launch across the screen just like M. Bison and a martial artist that can hurl fireballs and do a 'rising dragon punch'. Maybe this is Capcom's revenge on Neo Geo. ------------------- Watch Milkenobi on youtube \ ]

It's Capcom being lazy as *bleep* in creating a new character so instead of innovative characters like Dhalsim or Vega, we get mexican wrestlers and this generic character design for Seth seen in other series like the ones mentioned. What's separating him from the rest? A yin and yang symbol, real original Capcom.

The Yin Yang symbol swirling in his stomach is actually pretty cool. In fact when I was it I was thinking 'wow, how cool, I haven't seen anything like that before'.
It's just a shame that it's a cool feature on a character that couldn't possibly be anymore generic. ------------------- Watch Milkenobi on youtube \ ]

Yin and yang symbols are so played out, can't stand them, they're like a white guy with a Chinese character as a tattoo.

Hahaha I feel the same way about the yin and yang symbol. I don't get why they even put it though. Unless if they're foreshadowing something later on, he's an antagonist. I don't see much of a balance there between anything there.
