Well, as the above figures, found on a few Internet sites seem to show, Maou Sairin has had significantly lower sales in it's first 3 Weeks of release that the first Warriors orochi game.
Any opinions?
Imo it's strange because I would have thought given the slow release and promotion of information, and the fact that it is a sequel it would do better. Sequels often do better even if they aren't better due to the fact their are fans of the previous installments and high expectations. So why the drop in sales? Do you think people we're dissatisfied with Wo1 and therefore wouldn't want a sequel or do you think it's something else?

I call that a load of BS. How can a sequel be worse than its predecessor?

It's often just a carbon copy of a game, or people rely on the title and success of the first game to sell a game. However while i see this happening often in game series, it' doesn't seem to apply to WO, which is why the figures are shocking.

I don't know. Maybe they ran out somehow? Or, maybe the people in Japan don't realize how much an improvement the game really is? We need some reviews.

Uh...you have somewhat of a point there. Some people think its an improvement, others think its worse.

Though with DW6, there were some quite large changes like weapon changes, drastic look changes, simplifying of move sets and character cutting, which many people agreed with while others didn't. With WO they haven't made any drastic changes, just built upon something they already established at a pretty decent level. Possibly people could think it is too similar? It's hard to say. There don;t seem to be any reviews as of yet, not even user reviews. We should keep an eye out for those, because those figures seem bizarre.

This game is certainly different to how it worked with DW6, with none of the changes here being for the worse...I wouldn't have thought it would be classed as too similar...it's certainly gaining far more new features than transition of DW4 to DW5 for example...

According to Vgchartz, this is the most recent sales data, it still seems that WO2 is selling less, though it's sales seem to be a lot steadier too.

Maybe now some people wait for the English version instead of buying the Japanese version This what I think, because playing with Japan vesion is really confusing

Not so confusing i think. I just confuse with the weapon material and the name of the characters. But, for the others, i think i still can understand it.

Well, those are just sales figures for inside Japan. Which is strange, i thought they'd be going up. That said, i think there is more 'hype' over here for the game than over in Japan, so once the game is released in America, I think it will outsell the first one.
