You are in command of a unit of troops (lets say...1000 in number) and you are required to meet up with your commander, who is quite some distance away, as quickly as possible as they're under attack. Evening is drawing in and you reach a small village at the head of the road, leading to where you wish to go. Upon passing through you are halted by a local old man who tells you that the road ahead is unpassable at night due to the pass being guarded by evil spirits. Do You:

A) Proceed onwards anyway, what does an old man know, and hope that the 'spirits' don't turn out to be anything sinister.

B) Ask the old man for more information about the 'spirits', waisting time (he speaks slowly!) but perhaps gaining an understanding of how to proceed.

C) Camp out in the village til morning to remove any risk of being harmed by the spirits.

D) Find an alternative (and much longer) route to get to your commanders position.

E) Kill the old man and everyone in the village for making such a claim and use their bodies as sacrifices if any spirits do arise.
