re: WO Situations.

I'd go for D and then ask for nothing none of the choices really appeal to me and I can't really think of anything I'd want, you want something? You've gotta make it happen yourself.

Same again.

re: WO Situations.

I don't really know what the differences between B and D are. So I think the two is same.
I certainly won't choose A. I have seen the movie 'Bruce Almighty'. And, being god will be really damn busy, and I'm a lazy person. Not C either! I don't really need any weapon. I trust my own weapon.
I will choose B! And my wish will be... guess what?! I want to be with Lu Xun!

re: WO Situations.

Alright - Now I've got some free time I'll pose a question!

You are an individual of great intelligence and prestigious background. With your knowledge of the past, Confucion classics, and military strategy, along with your family reputation and wealth, you could enter the court of any major warlord. What do you do?

A. Join someone who seems likely to conquer the entire country and entrench yourself within that force, thus assuring that you have a large say in what goes on after victory is achieved. With this power you can fight for the changes you want to see in the world.

B. Join an 'underdog' ruler who may be fighting for idealistic purposes. With the lack of talent in this small force, you're sure to become a top advisor. Prove your loyalty in either victory or defeat.

C. Join an elderly ruler who has no heir and try to seize power upon his imminent demise. However you can take power the fastest is the path you'll choose!

D. Just because you are so intelligent and well off doesnt mean you have to be a coward! Join the local warlord's military and gain honor for your family!

E. Politics is not for me. I have everything I could ever want already; I am content to live a free and simple life with loved ones.

re: WO Situations.

Oh! Nice question, hard to choose!

A is absolutely not for me! I hate arrogant ruler, for example Cao Pi or Guan Yu, or someone else out there (eh, no offense)...

B is... I guess in DW he must be Liu Bei! Nah... I'm not an idealistic person. I live by sight, not by unrealistic dream

I'm not planning to be any heir! I'm not good in controlling land. I just want to be a follower, so C is not for me too...

(Skip D...)

E? Stay at home doing nothing? That's absolutely not a choice! How can I live so peacefully when I know my country is in danger? Nah.

So, my answer is D! I will join the local warlord's military, though I would prefer something more like a volunteer forces. Gaining honour for family sounds good, but I don't really care about that.

Hehe... Same question! Just want to see what the others think!

re: WO Situations.

I would join someone with a decent force, so A or B probably. Answer A doesn't necessarily mean the warlord is a tyrant, just that they're powerful and I'd most likely join the best force if it seemed like they were going to win.
On the other hand I may join B if they are more just, and try and switch sides if we as the underdog force are wiped out.

re: WO Situations.

Hey, I've just realized that I had never post a question even one!

New question!

If you're now lying a siege to a city, where your enemy is hiding. But, the city has so many innocents live. You won't kill them, of course, but your enemy uses them as shield so you won't attack them. Your provision is getting less and less, but your enemy still haven't come out yet. What will you do?

A. "Hey, they are just some peasants! I don't care about them. CHARGE!!!"

B. "Innocents are living there?" (then you threaten the people) "HEY, PEOPLE! GET OUT OF THIS CITY IF YOU WANT TO LIVE! WE'RE GOING TO ATTACK!" (whether they escape or not, you will attack the city, but at least you have warned them)

C. "You know, this is stupid." (Then you send an assassin, well, like a ninja, to spy the city, and you order the assassin to kill the enemy commander)

D. (Copying what Lu Meng did when he captured Jing Province: Pretending to be a nice visitor). "Hello, people! Look, I'm not going to harm you. Here, I have some present to you." (After you gain trust from the people, you force your enemy to surrender)

E. "Let's wait a little longer." (Then you write a letter to your own country) "Hey, we need more supply. Please send us some." (You're waiting until your enemy run out of supplies, but risking the innocents life as well)

F. "Oh no... not innocents. How can I kill them?" (Then, you order your troop to retreat...)

(If you have any other choice, feel free to answer with your own choice)

re: WO Situations.

Definitely B. Give them the chance to get out and if they don't it'll be their own fault. I wouldn't massacre them though or anything like that if they didn't leave.

Also, lol at Seth's post on this page

re: WO Situations.

I think I would go with D - I think I could work the 'appealing through niceness tactic'

I do have an alternative answer too however - I would stage a scene involving me leading part of my force (mounted) charging through the rear of my main unit (not actually harming anyone - just acting), therefore making the people in the city think that their enemy had another enemy and perhaps a potential ally to them so they would therefore let my mounted force into the city where they could either instantly wreak havoc and keep the gates open for the rest of my force or bide their time to plan a better attack on the main enemy general etc

Oh and for the question before, I think I'd go for B

re: WO Situations.

Nice question - I think I'd go for C to start, but in the very likely case that that failed, I'd go with Lu Meng's effective strategy and do D.
Of course, I'd think that D would still cause the deaths of many innocents. Theyre still going to get killed by my enemy

As for my question, basically all of them appeal to me which is why I made them - traditionally I'd go with B. But A and F have sounded good to me as of late, with the deciding factor between them being my mood at the time

Also, the underdog wouldnt be Liu Bei as much as a Zhang Jiao imo

All of you have different answer! Artirtico's alternative answer is great! Haven't think of that strategy...

Anyway...

You mean this?
quote Seth_the_death
I choose A. I don't have a friend, i hate my family, and i want to erase my memory in this world. And i hate this world. I want a new world.
Yeah, surely it's funny

I personally will answer C, actually... Not wasting money, energy, and time

NEW QUESTION!

You're a very very very very skilled and talented warrior, almost an ideal general. One day... let's say you're pointed as a commander of an army, and you are now attacking the enemy forces. On the battle however, someone you love who join the war as well(could be your wife, family, friend...) is captured by the enemy. You've just realized it when you won the first part of the battle.

Before the next battle...
You receive a letter from your enemy telling you that they will release the captive under one condition: YOU MUST DEFECT AND SERVE THEIR KINGDOM (Hey, you're a great warrior so everyone wants you to work for them!). What will you do?

A. Just like what Seth says: "I don't have a friend, i hate my family..."

B. "Oh... I'm so sorry..." Then, you keep attacking the enemy, but letting that someone you love to be killed by the enemy

C. "NO WAY! Uhh... le's think of something tricky." Then, you order your troop to delay the battle. In the night though, you sneak into their main camp and save him/her (but that would risk your own life and his/hers).

D. Same with C, but you don't want to risk your life so you order someone to do it.

E. "WHAT?! THEY HAVE NERVE TO DO THAT? THAT F* and F* and F* and F* SON OF A B*TCH!" Then you order the troops to taunt them like saying 'COWARD!' or something like that. At the same time hoping that your enemy will fall to your mockery and decided to release his/her (however, the possibility is so small...)

F. "If I must, then..." You ordered your troops to retreat, and go to the enemy HQ alone and work for them. That means your wife/family/friend, is safe. But you will be seen as traitor to your country.

G. Same with F, but you tell one of your MOST TRUSTED subordinate about anything, and promise all of your troops that if is just a trick. After letting your wife/or family/friend to escape, you think of a way to get out (Just like Guan Yu did)

H. "I love him/her, but I can't betray my own kingdom as well..." After letting your wife/family/friend to escape, you commit suicide.

Phew... so many options, but if you have something better, just say it

re: WO Situations.

Wow, loads of options indeed - very skilled, talented warrior, ideal general = Zhao Yun yay!

Hmm, well I think that G sounds the nicest option in that your loved one/friend escapes, you can go back to your army and still defeat your enemy but I imagine that getting that to work would be a very tough thing to accomplish (although since you are an almost perfect general, maybe it is possible )
C also sounds quite good although again, the chances of that working are quite slim...otherwise I think I'd have to go with B My loved one/friend would hopefully realise that the fate of our kingdom is more important than there life (although I hate the thought of that )

re: WO Situations.

I'll have to pull the Xu Shu and save the loved one (F). If Cao Cao had my mother, I would surely do whatever was most likely to save her.
On top of that, I dont see most lords as any better than other ones. At best, they might have more discipline in their armies or better treatment of their officers/people. But basically, all 3 of the kingdoms are equal in that regard. Serving the Yellow Turbans is the only time that I would feel truly loyal to the cause and thus have to reconsider the options.
Luckily the 'skilled' part is unlikely to come up in the YT ranks
