Da Ji, Keiji, Yukimura, for fighting.

In WO1 its:
Mitsunari Ishida, Nobunaga, Dian Wei.
Those are my favorite movesets in the WO series but they've all lost massive amounts of power in WO2, so I cant re-adjust to their weaker selves.

Zhu Rong triplets? Ah, I'm not surprised, but wouldnt variety be the point of 3? Maybe DW3,4, and 5 versions?

Dian Wei, Guan Ping, and Mitsunari as well as all speed character's R1 moves are all casualties of the WO-WO2 transition Xing Cai got me through Shu's first level because of R1 spamming but now shes significantly weaker.
Chaos mode is once again tough for me without those overpowered titans

Other favorite trios as sort themes are: Nobunaga, Hideyoshi, and Noh/Okuni/Tokugawa/Tadakatsu; Mitsunari, Sakon, and Gracia; Lu Xun, Lu Meng, and Kunoichi; Zhuge Liang, Jiang Wei, and Yue Ying; Yukimura, Keiji, and Xing Cai; Masamune, Gracia, and Kojuro.

For sheer broken overkill - Cao Ren, Huang Zhong, Sun Wukong. Rockman and Gramps are spectacular soloists, and they work fine in a team because they share the same maximized ability setup. They're god tier broken because they each have early -ex charges that cover a huge swath of the screen and can one-shot any 5-star chaos boss critter, including Orochi X. Cao Ren uses his C3-ex, whereas Huang Zhong busts out C1-ex. (Ren can also one-shot weaker generics with his C2-ex.) These charges crowd clear like nobody's business, even making mincemeat of officer pileups, and self-sustain well with Absorb. Sun Wukong is transportation.

For gameplay enjoyment and gruff 'n scruff sexiness - Cao Ren, Lu Meng, Katsuie Shibata. Meng and Katsuie aren't Ren-level spammers, but they are powerful and fun to play. (And they're all attractive if you share my tastes in male looks and personality. Rawr. )

Team Grrrrl Power - Zhu Rong, Ginchiyo Tachibana, Kunoichi. How awesome that my three favorite women happen to be Power types. They all have effective and enjoyable move sets, even though Kunoichi is broken and the other two aren't.

It is surprising how powerful the ranged attacks have been allowed - I remember enjoying training up all of the archers to open their dream stage but then the technique enhanced attacks of Huang Zhong certainly does put him way ahead of the rest in terms of power Cao Ren's C3 has always been a favourite of mine from DW5 so with that being uber-charged in this, he does also become a top killer as you say

Lu Meng's personality is one of the best for me - it's realistic and yet still highly interesting which seems quite rare really Definitely my favourite from Wu across all boards whether he's actually the best or not - I'll stick with Zhu Rong for interests of attraction though

I've never really got on with Kunoichi...she's just too all over the place for my liking with the speed making the charges hard to time and carry out - I suppose it's just a matter of practice I've just always preferred Nene personally although for my female trio I would have Kunoichi replaced with Da Ji in this and would keep Ginchiyo and of course Zhu Rong
