Battling La Saia

I did set the fire attribute on all my weapons before visiting La Saia in Queens, but still all my weapons say no effect and I can't do any damage to her except with bombs. Is this because the fire attribute is just not high enough, possibly?

re: la saia

tried to respond yesterday but - 404 error

- anyways - you have to break her sheild with a physical weapon first - such as Toan's sword, then you have to hit her with magic (ruby) once her sheild is down because - sheild up = no effect magic & sheild down = no effect physical.

re: la saia

re: la saia

The sheild does regenerate after a short period of time, so you have to be quick about attacking

re: la saia

how do you know if the shield's down? does it give you a message or something or are you just supposed to guess that you hit it right?

re: la saia

It's pretty easy to tell if her shield is down(no offense). When it is up you can see the shield. It should look something like a shield with wave like things coming out of the middle. After you hit with Toan/Xiao/Goro it will simple disapear. If that doesn't work then it might be a glitch in the game. This game is an awesome game but i think they might have been rushed to put it out because of all the spelling mitakes. So that might be y it may just something wrong with your game.:)

re: la saia

I usually prefer to use a fire gem to drop the shield myself. Little easier then try to get close.

-Remember that you can use heals if needed even when you are frozen.

re: La Saia, one technique in defeating her...

This is probably a "Wussy, Camping" technique, but it did
allow me to defeat La Saia without having to use 'heals'...

Just as combat starts, I dash for the nearest column
(La Saia's 'Freeze Bolt' can't penetrate, and if your
character is placed properly, the 'Bolt' can't "home" in
on you), and hide behind it.

I then switch to Xiao, and wait for a 'white flash' of one
of La Saia's 'Freeze Bolts' impacting with the column. I
then move Xiao out, target La Saia, and bring down her
sheild with a Fire Attribute attack from Xiao's slingshot
(at the time I had worked it up into a "Divine Beast Title").

After I move back to the protection of the column, I then
switch to Ruby, and wait for the next 'white flash'. When
it comes, I then move Ruby out to blast with Fire Attribute
or Holy Attribute Bolts (whichever is greater in amount in
the Ring's Attribute settings), once, and then move back to
the protection of the column, until the next 'white flash'...

Repeat. Until a distinctive "Dink" can be heard. This is
La Saia's sheild forming back in place, which will require
another switch to Xiao to bring it down, and then Repeat with
Ruby...

A Coward's Technique, I know... But effective, if a trifle
long and repetitive, and it saves on the heals, Stand-In and
Revive Powders...
