I think the active sniper is being changed already. I read somewhere that it gives you max damage, as in one bullet from any gun can down you after being hit by an active sniper. Either I read thats how its going to be, or someone suggested that idea. Either way, I hope thats how they do it. It needs to be powerful, but not so powerful that Gears of War becomes Silent Scope.

SS is an awesome arcade game btw, but if I wanted to play it I wouldn't be playing GoW now would I?

It's basically been confirmed already that an active sniper bullet will NOT instantly down you anymore, which is a huge positive. *bleep* all those active whores who suck with the snipe.

Other than that though, not much needs fixing. There really wont be much of a host advantage in this second game, so thats nice.

People like to say that everything in Gears is broken but as soon as anything is added or changed people will say it fails because it strayed from the formula that made the first game so good.

Unfortunately, that's the case with most sequels these days. Developers either add to much or stray off the original plot or design that was created in the first game and just *bleep* everything up, ruining it for the fans. But from the footage we've seen most gameplay elements are still there, few more weapons added to the mix making firefights more tactical, more varied maps and an extension to the originally good story.

My only gripe is how they promise the host won't have an advantage and lag throughout the room will be roughly the same for each player. I hope they achieve it. And I suppose less glitches would be a bonus.

That's when you fall back and wait. Actives go away leaving regular shots. If they keep it up, they'll run out of ammo.

Actives also don't mean shit since the majority of the Gears community can't aim for nothing.

They can aim, its just the host having a crappy connection that ruins it... well, not twelvies. They have no excuse.

He didn't say they can't aim because of the host connection. He meant that the majority of the GoW players cannot aim and rely on active reloads to down the opponent.

No crud I'm on my third one now they start to break from the inside out, ok on to the topic, what if they keep the active reload on the sniper the same, but remove the stupid melee from it that is what suck like hell

almost anything you do in a game is a 'tactic'
anybody that really has to use actives out of spawn as a tactic should break their gears

anytime somebody kills me with actives and brags about it i usually shut them up real quick with 'actives out of spawn relax' and they dont talk no more

I can't believe you guys wanna weaken active snipe. Without it, I wouldn't even pick it up. Ok, you could call me a noob or whatever, but when you can for other 1 shot kill weapons or just beat down the enemy without them having a chance, why go to effort of trying for a headshot?

Maybe I just suck with snipe (I'll admit that much), but I honestly don't think snipe should be nerfed. And I think having active give a piercing bonus would be close to pointless.

I would say:

-More playable characters and customisation.
-Beats are OP, the stun lasts far too long.
-Pistol is slightly too strong.
-Ofc host needs to be fixed.
-No map glitching.
-4 player online co-op.
-Don't bring back Series of Tubes, it just encourages people to host unnecessarily, meaning longer wait times.
-Bring back Canals and Fuel Depot (ok this one is slightly biased).

I really can't think of any more, it's very good to begin with, so just an update would be nice.

It's nothing like the other "1 shot kill" weapons. The reason the active on a sniper is ridiculous is because you start with 12 bullets in a sniper rifle. Compare this to the two shots you get from a Boomshot. That's 12 potential 1 shot kills, allowing you in a normal game of Warzone/Execution to be *bleep*ing retarted, miss 8 shots, and still have the potential to kill the whole team from a distance. I think it's a brilliant thing that you say you will no longer pick up the weapon if you can't get active downs, this will leave the weapon for those who want to use it for its intended purpose. Getting headshots.

There are 11 bullets, and you need to fire one before getting an active, so that's only 10 one shot kills.

But yeah it's still a good point you are making.
