Well I'll give my opinion on this, you were saying how the sniper would never get picked up if they took out actives. It would still get picked up all the time but it wouldn't be treated as a primary weapon that people desperate to get kills go for. ------------------- ![]() | |

I think that as tight as the Gears maps usually are, that active reloads shouldn't cause an active down. Ever. Headshots should be the only lethal kill that can be performed with it, though a chest shot should still give at least half damage, though that brings up the debate of exploiters using the COG pistol after every shot to down someone. | |

What if instead of sniper actives causing more damage, they had a special effect, like it would go through someone and also damage another player near him, or it would ricochet or something. These aren't really the greatest ideas I know, but I'm just coming up with examples to clarify what I said. ------------------- I have come here to chew bubblegum and kick ass, but I'm all out of bubblegum! | |

While having something like penetration on active sniper bullets would be pretty cool, I can't really imagine that many situations where that'd be useful. It's not very often you get your opponents line up when you're fighting them. As for ricochet, I don't really see how reloading your gun better (essentially what actives are) would change the properties of your bullets in the way that they could bounce. ------------------- ![]() | |

Yeah, that's true, and having sniper bullets penetrate cover might be too cheap, but really anything is better than having 1 hit active downs. quote Shattered SilenceWell think about it, sure that wouldn't make sense, but would it really be out of place with Humans living on earth for thousands of years without knowing that there were Brumaks and corpsers living underground, and for that matter, chainsaw bayonets? Well, that could work with the destructible environments and all, but what I'm worried about is those times when you can just barely see someones head poking up, but not enough to shoot it, and they can just get through cover and kill you. Then again that still would require skill to get them in the head, maybe more so after people know that it can happen. ------------------- I have come here to chew bubblegum and kick ass, but I'm all out of bubblegum! | |

Cover penetration on an active would be simply amazing. I can't tell you the number of times I wished I could shoot through cover at some camper across the map instead of having a sniper battle with him. | |

I know that, and since the head is below cover (and always in a certain spot, depending on which way they're facing), it could mean either instant death to campers or force them to keep moving back and forth on their cover. | |
