OMG my ideas have been liked!
This could add to the pwnage supreme of corner snipers along with the destructible environments. I can't count how many times I have lost a single handed 4v4 victory due to corner snipers. As a matter of fact, I can only count to three. Three is a big number.

Also, ignore my "Pwnage supreme" earlier, I just enjoy putting stupid little things like that into posts.

It's not really needed for every single gun to have a white extra active section, like the Sniper or Torque.

if u shoot them in leg, they dont get downed w/ sniper, tho they should, even if its not an active.
see in real life a slug from a sniper can kill a man from like 2 miles away...
and even if ur armored a close ranged sniper slug should severely damage u....
if u get shot in legs, shouldnt u limp? or get downed cuz thats like ur most vulnerable place
if u get shot in the leg and cant use it ur as good as ded

While yeah, the game isn't realistic, they've still got variable damage depending on which parts of the body you hit. If you aim for the legs (especially when using shotgun), you'll down your opponent far quicker than if you aim anywhere else.

Luke's shotgun has homing bullets, so it doesn't matter where he aims.

It's ridiculous sometimes, his shotgun really does crazy amounts of damage from massive range. Perhaps one thing they should fix with the gun is its effectiveness from distance. Perhaps a sharper drop off in damage with distance. It could be that the active power doesn't mean quite as much if you have to get in closer to do any real damage.

Haha I agree entirely, his Shotgun is the most borken piece of equipment ever, I know it's hard for me to talk because I've started to follow the same bullshit path that he has.

The Gears Shotgun isn't very realisticly mirrored at all, it's capable of doing CRAZY amounts of damage from the most ridiculous distances, I'm not sure whether they should do what Ali's just mentioned, or re-design it altogether, harsh I know but I can't see any other way it can be fixed.

well, say we were enemies in a war right, just u and me in a huge desert (not likely obiously)
say just like in gears, its tacticly sound to use a sniper at close range and u can recover from bullets if u take cover...
so i got a sniper, and u got a shotty, or watever u want (just not a boomshot...) so im far from u right, and i snipe u in the leg, right in ur upper quad, rendering that leg completely useless.
Ur downed cuz u cant walk and need help, w/ no teammates around. Ur as good as dead without the ability to run or walk, bleeding out and getting weaker by the second.
cuz a slug from a sniper to the leg disables ur running capabilities, rendering u a siting duck, aka being downed in gears

yea but in gears physics, a lancer bullet hardly does damage, a starting pistol does hardly any damage, that revolver does lots of damage, and a sniper is, like in real life, most damaging out of them all... or should be.
well the active reload makes my argument fair anyways, so the sniper active reload is fine...
besides if thier being cheap and using it, just get a sniper/boom and do it to them, or better yet glitch!... the crabwalk in particular renders it almost useless.

o yea im all for it being unrealistic... the last thing i would want is for marcus to whine like a bitch whenever he gets shot with one lancer bullet...
unrealistic=fun in gow
Maybe they should make the sniper more penatrating in the future if its an active reload, like if ur lucky i could get a double headshot
just cuz of the distructive environments

Yes, it's true for any bullet, hence my earlier point about how shooting the legs actually does down quicker in Gears.
