If they appear there and you can't pick them up it's because the person you are playing with doesn't have that one yet and they need to pick it up.

What? I was just playing through campaign co-op with a friend, and I couldn't see ANY of the COG tags that he was picking up. I knew where they were though, so I was pointing out their locations to him, even if I couldn't see them at the time.

Maybe they changed it in an update. I have't played co-op in a while but I remember it being like that.

According to the May issue of GameInformer magazine, there will be "Personal Letters and Medical Records, as well as new COG tags that can actually be examined to learn about their fallen owner". A "War Journal" will also be available from the pause menu that tells what items you've found, what you're missing, and where you can find what you're missing.

Sounds pretty cool to me.

I don't like the sound of that. Just keep COG tags and leave it at that. They were perfect the way they were. But I think the crimson omens could be a bit more vague and hard to spot. They were a dead giveaway.

There's those items mentioned and cog tags. They'll be more detailed this time around, though; You'll be able to read who the tag belonged to and a brief bio of that person.

I think that will be a great addition: learning extra information about the storyline will give more insentive to get the COG tags if the achivements aren't enough.

Oh, that would be good. But having a little Resi Evil style inventory would blow. I like the idea of history and stuff. I would like a brief bio of the 30 Gears 1 COG tags guys too, of the ones you got anyway (reads your save game).

This is a bit off-topic, but it's also said in the Article in GameInformer that there's going to be a new difficulty....and apparently it'll be one of a lesser difficulty than casual.....

Rod Fergusson said that he felt that, for some people, casual difficulty wasn't casual enough and they made Gears 1 a little harder than what was intended.....

No offense to anyone who had trouble in Gears 1, but are you kidding me? I mean, I suck at most videogames, and even I had little trouble beating GoW1 on Insane(except RAAM). I could understand someone getting right on Insane difficulty having never played GOW or after not playing GoW in a long time and having trouble with it.

They need to make the game much longer, and quite a bit harder, or it's not going to be interesting(to me atleast).

I totally understand that they are, as the magazine says, "trying to embrace any an all who are willing to pick up a controller", but I really don't think that Gears2 needs to have an even easier difficulty....I just mean that, that's not exactly an improvement, IMO.

Maybe I'm wrong, and it's a good thing, though

I don't think having an easier difficulty should really matter, and if anything, it is a good thing for Epic, as it can only increase the number of people willing to play Gears. As long as all the other difficulties don't get any easier, I have no qualms with it.

The easier difficulty information was pretty lame, to be honest. Why? Because if anything, Epic needs to add a more DIFFICULT level. Insane is so much more easier when you play with a friend, so more challenge would have been welcomed.

I'm pretty excited letters and records being included in the campaign though. Sorta pulls a page from RE4, and gives us a chance to learn more about the story and history of Gears.
