I'm not really feeling that unfortunatly. They're over complicating things.

Changed the title so it's more appropriate.
Yeah, probably a good idea.

Nice find cid.

I agree with Auctoria on this one. I really don't think shields fit into GoW's gameplay, since most of the time you depend on the cover system more often than anything.

The shield is cover though.

I really don't see why people are having such an issue with this. If anything, it adds more of a strategic element to both sides of the battle, and I'm fairly positive that Epic has come out and said the cover destructs after a certain amount of bullets hit it.

What I'm trying to say is that it's not necessary. Most of the time, you have cover anyways. The only difference is that you can probably use the shield while moving.

This might be an indication that some of the new maps will have more open areas, where gaining control would be vital to gaining victory. In that situation, a portable shield would probably be very useful indeed.

Yeah if that map is going to have large open spaces and the only way of advancing safely because of another annoying player who thinks they can snipe is pinning you down with the trusty old active reload, I think it could work. Tai looks pretty badass with it.

Notice Tai and Marcus have different shields. Marcus's doesn't have spikes and it extends much higher than Tai's. Maybe they can extend out or something.

But yeah, I think they would be a good idea, that is though, please don't make it so you can store them on your back, that would make it far too easy.

re: Gears of War Bullet Shields

The shield has to be from the new Locust Kantus. If the new maps are going to be a bit more wide open range, I guess the shields will be pretty useful. I would like the idea of being able to switch it with a weapon and being able to pull it out when needed.

Until, or course, it breaks. Cause if it doesn't break, that will not be cool.

Also, Jaybo, Turok isn't Samoan lookin'. He looks like a Body building Indian.

quote jeux-france and gearsofwar2forum
-The cover system is no longer as clunky, and has been edited to further prevent people "sticking" to walls and such

-Portable Cover: These are big metal things that you can carry around and shove into the ground to act as make-shift cover. You can only use your pistol while carrying one, and they can be destroyed by enemies that get too close.
The portable cover looks like it's going to be more useful than most people think.
