Rules and Regulations
Welcome to the Neo Dojo, where you can test your skill with the controller against opponents from all around the world! This forum is for arranging With Friends matches with other forum visitors. As such, there is some basic battle etiquette you should follow when challenging other members, all of which are outlined below.
Asking for Battles
To request a battle, simply create a thread with the [Battle] tag and wait for someone to respond. If you have special conditions to your match, please list them in your post. For example, if you want a no-items match, please specify as such. If your opponent breaks a rule which you did not tell them about then its your own fault.
Crew Battles
Crew Battles are special battles held between two rival Crews. When you create a Crew Battle thread, place [Crew Battle] at the start of your thread title. That thread will serve as the meeting place for the two Crews to schedule their matches. It is expected that if you are not in either of the competing Crews that you will not post in their Crew Battle thread.
Crew Battle threads are not General Discussions and you should only talk about the current Crew Battle within them.
Standard Rules
With Brawl being out now for a few months there has been some kind of standard rules set which would be: 3 Stock No Items 8 Minute Time Limit If the timer runs out, the victor is determined first by stock and then by percentage. If a game ends with Bowser doing his suicide klaw and it ends in sudden death, the sudden death will be ignored and that game will count as a win for Bowser. Stalling is banned.
Rule Breaking
Please do not break the rules your opponent sets. Doing so not only ruins the game for everyone, but may also see you disciplined if we receive enough complaints. Don't do it.
Disconnecting
Nobody wants to face disconnectors. To disconnect means to terminate your connection to the internet during the middle of a match (usually when losing) and thus ruining the game for everyone involved. If you're not going to win, that's no excuse to ruin the online experience for others.
If your connection is not working very well then it is common courtesy to tell your opponent about it beforehand. It should also be made clear that people who complain about "poor connections" should accidentally disconnect from matches they're winning as well, so if you do nothing but disconnect from matches you're losing, we'll know you're lying.
Sharing Friend Codes
Brawl unfortunately forces players to share Friend Codes (often referred to as FCs) in order to connect via With Friends. This means you will have to post your Friend Code in public when you ask for a battle, or when you accept. Don't expect players to PM you their FC if you're the one asking for a battle; It will just be easier for them to look elsewhere.
If for any reason you don't want to give your FC out publicly, then do not use this forum. You should be aware, however, that even if someone you do not know finds your FC and adds it to their Wii, they cannot connect to you unless you put their FC in your Wii as well. This means there is no chance of someone connecting to you if you don't want them to, so giving away your FC is perfectly safe.
Wii Friend Codes and Brawl Friend Codes
Please be aware that these are two different things. You Wii FC allows you to send messages to other people's Wii consoles and to share Mii's. However, each Brawl disc has its own Friend Code. When someone asks for your FC, you need to give your Brawl FC, not your Wii FC. If you give them the Friend Code for your Wii instead of Brawl, it will not work.
And finally, Have Fun
Battling other players online is the biggest addition to the Smash Bros series, and this is the best place for you to enjoy it. Treat each other with respect (both on and off the battlefield!) and hone your skills in the game of Smash.
Enjoy the forum! If you have any questions or concerns pertaining to the guidelines or crew forum, feel free to drop one of the forum moderators' a Private Message. gotenks992 PM

quote Overswarm
The following list was created by members of the Smash Back Room (SBR). Each rule was debated and voted upon in separate topics. While it is always up to the Tournament Organizers (TO) to determine the rules that best fit their tournaments, we recommend these rules be used as a base guideline to new and experienced TO's alike. General rules: 3 Stock 8 minute timer Items are set to "off" and "none" If the timer runs out, the victor is determined first by stock and then by percentage. If a game ends with Bowser doing his suicide klaw and it ends in sudden death, the sudden death will be ignored and that game will count as a win for Bowser. Stalling is banned.
Stalling: The act of deliberately avoiding any and all conflict so that one may make the game unplayable. Running away from an opponent to reach a better position is not stalling, while doing an infinite grab endlessly against a wall is. Any infinite chain grabs most end quickly after 300% has been reached so as to prevent excessive stalling.
Stage Lists
TOs must move stages from the starter/counterpick into either the starter or counterpick categories and must move stages from counterpick/banned into either the counterpick or banned categories.
Stages in the Starter/Counter and Counter/Banned list did not receive 2/3 majority, and therefore you are given the option to put those stages in either category, as we did not come to a consensus on it.
The SBR Recommended rule list uses the stage striking system. In this system, players take turns striking stages from the starter list until only one remains; these stages are not banned and can be counterpicked later in the set. There must be an odd number of starter stages.
Starter Battlefield Final Destination Smashville Yoshi's Island
Starter/Counter Castle Siege Delfino Halberd Lylat Cruise Pokémon Stadium 1
