Hey all,

I think I've found a bug in Fatal Frame 2...either that, or I missed something VERY miniscule in the game. I cannot enter the Kiryu Family Altar Room at all. I did all the tasks needed to trigger entry, according to every walkthrough I've seen, though I didn't go the exact way said in most walkthroughs (I didn't think it mattered, and no, I did not use any cheats). I took the picture of the armless/headless doll and got the Dollmaker's Journal 3 as needed, but I still can't get into the room! It says that it's locked, and I'm still hearing noises behind it.

Tell me, is this bug common? Did I miss something? Or is my only hope to restart the game? I'm very curious as to what went wrong...

I have the same problem, i have been all over the house and i cannot enter that room.

If you go in the next room you can sense a spirit behind the wall in the altar room but i have no idea how to get in!

i have discovered the answer to your problem! You have to go down the stairs near the save lantern as this then opens the family altar room door.

There will be a hole in the wall in the far left corner of the room and this allows you to see the hidden man in the next room with the sealed door. He then opens the door and you are able to walk in, this is the dollmakers room.

Exactly right. But you need to stand at that hole and watch him until he walks away. THEN you can enter the room.
